So today just like that out of the blue, My m15x wont start. I havent touched it for a full week. Was not plugged in or anything. At first I thought it maybe lost battery power, so I plugged it into the charger and after half an hour still nothing.

Only the alienhead on the case and the alienhead above the keyboard, are illuminated when the laptop is plugged in. When I unplug it, everything goes dark. Nothing, I hold down the touch power button, nothing, I had alot of important things on this laptop, and my university is starting in just 4 days, this is unbelievable! 5 Thousand dollars for a laptop that I was told is the best of the best, and here I am, with a dead peace of plastic.

Please I would appreciate some input and some help! I am going to call Alienware in about an hour or two once I get a chance and see what they say.

does it start if you just plug the charger in and not have the battery inside.

I had a similar problem with my m15x where I left it on in sleep mode while the battery ran out. After that the notebook was dead, nothing except for the alienhead while charging. Try taking all of your batteries out, (Main and/or smart bay). Disconnect any a/c adapters. THen hold down the power button for thirty seconds with no power connected to it. Then connect only the a/c adapter and power on your system. Make sure everything is going smoothly and then restart your system and install the batteries.

yeah this happened to me too once. mine worked again after i disconnected the A/C, pulled out the battery, then reconnected just the A/C. although i must say yankees' tip sounds more professional, so i'd give that a try :D

Yea that will reset the motherboard. I told some other guy to do that for a different problem and it fixed his. This has helped me a few times before. Except you really don't have to hold down the power button for 30 seconds, thats a little stretch but yea Yankee said what I was going to say.
