    Hey everyone!

I've had my M17x R2 for ~3 months now, and the M15x for approximately 2. I have a multitude of problems that dell tech support can't fix without sending out a technician, and tbh, I cant be bothered - at least yet.

Was wondering if anybody here cold lend some advice if you have some time? =]
I'll just list them and.. if you answer one of them, please do =]

    M17x R2:
    - If the laptop enters sleep mode, I close the screen.. or anything which involves the screen turning off, it doesnt turn on. I can press ctrl+alt+del and have the screen come up, but anything I click on doesn't show up. Dell has no clue what the issue is.
    - I have Raid 0 atm, havent upgraded to SSD cause I'm waiting a little while for either a price drop, or better capacity 2.5" drives. My Raid 0 setup spools insanely loud. Dell told me thats not normal and my fans should never be at max speed at start-up. They said I need to reflash my bios - thats risky! Is there any other suggestions?
    - My battery doesnt work. I've tried all the tips given here before, but they're only quick one day fixes. My laptop turns on with the battery power, then dies 2 seconds later, or it wont turn on at all. It can run off the battery for 2 seconds, then it dies. The battery is fully charged =S

    M15x
    - Not running SSD yet.. same reason as above. Lags like hell, and sometimes doesnt turn on.. i.e. turn on and it takes 5 minutes of a black screen before starting, or it simply wont start and you need to kill power and restart. Any ideas??
    - Same battery issue as above =[

    Please help =[

reflash the bios pretty easy and can fix alot of minor glitches do it for both if you have a warranty and the bios flash screws up your computer no stress they will get you a new motherboard or new laptop.

the battery make sure that once you get into windows i think it is the "fn + f2" key to enable and disable battery and double check bios i know the m11x you can disable charging in the bios.

if you have to have the tech come out let them do the repairs if it does not work they have no choice but to give you a new system whats too loose. Backup your data and you should be good

Hmmm, I'll wait until my uni trimester is over first, then I'll take the jump with bios reflashings. Too risky with the time delays dell has. Took 3 months to get the M17x... I'll live with it for now, then try and fix later, thanks newai! =]

I just got my M17x...I'm hoping I don't see these same problems. It took me 3 months to get mine as well.

were you the one who bought there laptop from the marketplace here and had the screen replaced because of a dead pixel? Are you saying the m15x is bricked? IF thats the case ask for an exchange or something. MAke them give you a brand new laptop. The battery thing on the m17x sounds like a motherboard problem. You need two new laptops it looks like. MAybee a tech could come out and put in a new mobo for the m17x? The other problem about the sleep mode not turning back on from it, that sounds like software. Reinstalling win 7 or bios flash would fix that but if the mobo is bad that would be it to. If you have warenties Id say start chewing into some mofos over the phone and taking names.

It doesn't make sense not to get Dell support to check your laptops. That's why you have a warranty. If I had problems with my M11x or my M17x, first thing I'd do is call Dell.
