My Cd-rom drive is acting a little bit wierd sometimes.
It seams like it wont read all cd's right.
The other day when i put a cd with alot of sound samples in it, it just kept ontrying to read it. But it would not, and in the end it oppened it like an emty cd-rom.
Another time i had my alienware support cd-rom in"wich it reads just fine", and then i put a game cd-rom in, and NOW when i oppened the cd-rom drive it showed me the folder as if it was the alienware cd-rom? I had to take it in and out a couple of times before it worked?
Anybody experinced the same?

i don't have an m17x but try reinstalling your cd-rom driver or uninstall it and let windows install a generic one. good luck.

Nickness,
Boot off of the Resource DVD and run Alienware Diagnostics. My bets are that your optical drive is beginning to fail. -
I agree. When this happened to my e1705 the drive finally stopped working all together and I had to get a replacement drive. I ran the built in diagnostics on the computer and it wouldn't pass the cdrom drive..
My cd-rom drive act's wierd
