Ok, I am new to the forum.. but I have been reading a wealth of information here for about the last 3mo or so just trying to figure what I want in my laptop. If it were a desktop, I'd just build my own and be done with it... but, it's not... so I did my research.

I decided on Alienware early in February for numerous reason... their warranties, upgradability, unique design and quite simply because they seemd to blow away everyone elses specs. I couldn't find my particular Processor/Vid card combo anywhere else at a better price... that I trusted.

So, I placed my order over the phone on Feb 20th... here is what I ordered.

    Area-51® m15x
    Display: 15.4" WideXGA+ 1440 x 900 LCD (720p) with Clearview Technology
System Lighting: Alienware® AlienFX® System Lighting - Indigo
    Video/Graphics Card: 512MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8700M GT
    Processor: Intel® Core(tm) 2 Duo T9300 2.5GHz (6MB Cache 800MHz FSB)
    Memory: 2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SO-DIMM at 667MHz - 2 x 1024MB
Operating System: Windows Vista® Home Premium
    System Drive: 200GB 7200RPM (16MB Cache)
    Optical Drives : 8x Dual Layer Burner (DVD±RW, CD-RW) w/ LightScribe Technology - View Demo <javascript:OpenWindow
    Wireless: Internal Intel® Wireless 4965 a/b/g/Draft-N Mini-Card > Sound Card : Internal High-Definition Audio with surround sound
    Keyboard Options: AlienFX® Illuminated Keyboard

Although, I am very happy with my decision... I really hoped the m15x would look much cooler than it does.... and the fact that they cant install the 64b Vista version before shipping really urks me... but I can deal with that.

So I have placed my order... here is what has happened so far.... I intend on keeping this thread updated as much as possible.

02/20/08 - Placed Pre-order over the phone with ******, but build could not be started until payment was made in full. CSR took order accuratley and was very helpful, Alienware is off to a good start. The person I spoke with was so helpful that I even sent a "thank you" email! Estimated ship date March 7th ? Yuck

Here are a few of the emails to note that were sent back and forth....

This is from me, to my sales rep's Supe...
Hello *****! Just wanted to let you know that I got your confirmation email in my school account and everything looks good. Thanks very much for your time! Oh, actually one minor problem is that the email address you CC'd to was missing a letter on the end. It's no problem though. Could you please send all future emails to my hotmail account? I'll type out the exact spelling for you. It's my fault because its spelled funny! :p ******@hotmail.com Is there any way to check status of the order online? I would love to have an actual account set up online that I can access and check on things or make changes if neccessary. Thanks for your time!

Payment has been received and the order is now in queue for production.
    Phase 4: (Pre-Production)
The inventory that will be used to custom build the PC is being pulled and inspected. In the rare occurrence that a PC component is not readily available, you will be notified via email.

02/25/08 - Monday. Still in Phase 4. No big deal... estimated ship date isn't until March 7th anyways.

02/28/08 - Thursday. Almost a week and still on Phase 4... I wonder if there is an issue. I better call. I seemed to have just missed that dept. as they closed a mere 10min before my phone call... grr

02/29/08 - Friday. Phase 4. Still... so I called, and this time I made sure I called early enough in the day. I talked to CSR *****... he said that they were waiting on the chasis to arrive to start the build. he said they arrived today but that the techs wouldn't start the build until Monday. *sigh* Ok... I can be patient. Wasn't I supposed to get an email though if they had to wait on parts? Maybe they didn't say anything because my estimated ship date was still a week away.

03/03/08 - Monday morning... still in Phase 4. Thought I'd wait till that night before I pitched a fit... you know, cuz maybe they don't update the website until the end of the day or something. Understandable. Monday night.... Phase 4. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt... maybe it only updates in the morning, and they hadn't started it yet when it was time to update it this morning... thats possible I guess... I'm sure it will update on Tuesday morning.

03/04/08 - Tuesday morning... Phase 4. Grr Ship date is March 7th... thats this Friday. And we still have alot of phases to go through. I'll give it until this afternoon and then I'll be calling again... Yes, I'm impatient. Sorry In the begining I was hoping that they may finish it a bit early... now, I'm just hoping they finish it on time.

Called about 4pm.... bad news. The chasis still haven't arrived... didn't James say that the chasis arrived on Friday? Apparently, they will not arrive until the 10th Which bumps my estimated ship date to the 15th... I should have recieved it by then, now it won't even be shipped until then. So I should recieve it around the 22nd if I'm lucky? Why was I not notified ? I am counting on this computer for work So I asked if they were going to compensate for the extra wait... this guy said he didn't know. He said that would be decided later. I would assume no. He said that my status would update from Phase 4 on Monday morning of the 10th. I've heard that one before.

Later that day I recieved an e-mail...

    Dear **********,
There will be a slight delay in your Alienware order, because the part(s) listed below are temporarily backordered. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and assure you that we are doing everything in our power to expedite the process of obtaining the part(s). Once the part(s) have been obtained, your order will be processed.

If you have any questions regarding your order, please do not hesitate to contact our sales department by replying to this e-mail.
    Thank you for choosing Alienware.

Glad they sent that AFTER I made my phone call... grr

03/10/08 - Monday morning... 11:30am central time. No update. Suprise suprise. I'll give it till 4pm... then I'm calling again. And if they don't give me some straight answers this time... I'm canceling my order.

Noon - No update. 5pm - No update, so I called and spoke to a rep again... and this one really seemed clueless. At first he says that my laptop has been started and that it will be shipped in 48hours. Then he says by the end of the week for sure...then he ends the conversation with ...we're still waiting on the chasis, but it should be shipped friday So I think he meant that they would recieve the chasis by friday. I tried clearing this up with him on the phone... but he seemed have a hard time speaking clearly and I couldn't understand him well. I'll call and speak with someone else in the morning.
Emailing *******, my sales rep... here's a copy of the e-mail...

Hey ***** I hate to bug you again because I know you have a job to do... but some of these guys I have talked to on the phone have been kind of just giving me the run-around... the estimated ship date on the laptop was supposed to be this past Friday, but it still says I am in Phase 4 when I look it up... I was told that the chasis were late and that they would be there the previous friday.. then I was told they would be there today and it would be updated today. Whomever I talked to on the phone couldn't really give me a straight answer and I really need to get this PC for work... I almost didn't buy it in the first place because I knew it was going to take so long, but I trusted the craftsmanship of Alienware and went with it... originally, I should be getting the laptop in the next day or so, but it is apparent it hasn't even been started yet. I know it's not your fault... but I thought you may be able to help me get to the bottom of this. I know things take time... but I just started a new job and I need my PC, lol Can you figure out what's going on with it? Do they compensate for late shipping? A free upgrade or something? Help me out ***** I know you can

03/11/08 - Tuesday Morning I check my email at 9am... I got an email from Alienware at 11pm last night... strange... but I'm hopefull Maybe, the site is just messed up... maybe just maybe, the email says that my PC will be shipped as scheduled. Wait that would have been on Friday... maybe it says the PC was already shipped Hey, it could happen.... ok, lets check the email...

*** ? OH and I checked my online status... Phase 3 How are they going to bump me BACK a phase ? LOL What a joke I'll be calling them soon... Maybe ***** can get to the bottom of this... I should at least give her the opportunity. She's got till noon.

    Phase 3: (Payment Processed)
Payment has been received and the order is now in queue for production.

Here is a copy of the email I sent right away...

“3/24??? And today it shows that I went back from Phase 4 to Phase 3 I have been told several times that the part will be in on this day or that day... now its 3/24? Thats over a month since I placed my order... I spoke with a guy on the phone last night that said my order would be shipped by the end of the week. And last week I spoke with another person that said my build was supposed to have started on Monday. I cannot wait another 3 weeks for my PC.... someone needs to call me. I expect Alienware will be making this up to me?”

Noon - I haven't heard anything from anyone yet but get this... LOL It's now in Phase 5 Too funny I'm calling someone...

    Phase 5: (Production Phase 1 - Assembly)
Your system is being hand-built by an Alienware Assembly Technician. Alienware takes great pride in building our systems, as our motto reflects, build it as if it were your own. The assembly stage can take some time, as all the components and cabling in the system is carefully installed for greater upgrade flexibility and thermal airflows. Every Assembly Technician has been trained and qualified to Alienware standards. We pride ourselves on giving you a high performance computer system

1pm - I called and spoke to a ***** this time... again with a thick accent, but we made it through the entire conversation and he was much more helpful than the last guy. He says the chasis have arrived and they have started my build... he says typically, once it hits this stage, it only takes a few days to continue through the remaining stages. Call me a sucker... but I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt. I mean, I researched for 4 weeks trying to find the right PC... nothing compares to the alleged power of the m15. Period. And for the price... the kind of stats on a Dell would cost me an extra grand and would be nowhere near as cool... except that I would be guaranteed to get it in a week or so. Voodoo PC was way over priced as well. Who else is there? Gateway? HP? Sony Vaio? Compaq? LOL

Let's see what happens by Friday. I asked him how long he thought it would take for them to ship my PC... he said he didn't want to give me a date because he wanted to remain honest. I like that in a person. He said it should ship by the end of this week, but no promises. He did say though that ALL the parts were in and they were CURRENTLY building my PC. Time will tell right?

You know what scares me though? Once they go into Phase 5 you cant get a full refund... they charge you restocking fees and cancelation fees and all sorts of other bogus charges. So they better not be yanking my chain here just to keep me hanging on a bit longer.... point is, they better ship my PC by the end of this week or there will be hell to pay.

Here is a response from Alienware in regards to the email I sent earlier today....

    Dear ******,
    Thank you for contacting Alienware.
Please accept our apologies for the misunderstanding with the previous e-mail.
According to our records, today your order entered Phase 5: Assembly.
I can assure you that we are putting forth our best effort to see that your order is delivered as promptly as possible.
If you need further information, please do not hesitate to contact me or our Order Change / Status Department at 1-800-494-3382 (option #2). We will gladly assist you.
    Thank you for choosing Alienware.

    Best regards,
    Alienware Corporation

    And of course... my response....

“I thank you for responding. I had just called a few minutes prior to recieving this e-mail and spoke with a guy named *****. He said the exact same thing you did. I do apologize for sounding upset, but I am just concerned because I paid almost 3000$ cash for this PC for work and I just thought it would have been here by now or at least on the way. I do not expect anyone to rush... I want it done right with no problems, and I understand that complications arise everday... my superiors are getting antsy. I'm getting antsy and I just want to know that everything is all right. Does Alienware compensate for late orders or anything? A free upgrade or something? I mean, appreciate you giving me an update. I just hope you can understand my concern. Thanks for your time. -******”

Now, back to the waiting game....

Later that night I got another response...

    Dear Mr. ****,
Thank you for keeping in touch with me.
I understand your situation and I would like to apologize on behalf of Alienware for the delay with
your order. In regard to your last inquiry, unfortunately, we do not have a compensation policy.
However, rest assured that your system should move forward through the production cycle within
    the next 24 - 48 hours.
If you need further information, please do not hesitate to contact me or our Order Change / Status
Department at 1-800-494-3382 (option #2). We will gladly assist you.

    Thank you for your understanding.
    Sincerely,
    Alienware Corporation

03/12/08 - Wednesday - 2pm. I just checked the status of the PC to see what phase it is in. To my surprise, it has been updated again and is now on Phase 6. Things are looking up... but again, I have just about lost all faith at this point... so lets see where it stands at the end of the business day today and tomorrow morning.

    Phase 6: (Production Phase 2 - Integration)
This stage includes the installation of the operating system, drivers and any applications that are specific to the system you ordered. Our Alienware Integration Technician will also install any demos, benchmark utilities, and burn-in software necessary to correctly monitor your system’s performance. These functions are performed by AlienFactory, a proprietary software designed by Alienware for our valued customers. This is also the first stage of the Alienware 200-Point Quality Control Process.

03/13/08 - Thursday Morning looking good! Up two Phases... maybe she’ll be shipped out tomorrow!!! I still haven't heard anything from *****... maybe she did something for me behind the scenes? Oh well, were in Phase 8 now... only one more!

Phase 7: (Production Phase 3 – System Testing)
Your system is undergoing the second stage of the Alienware 200-Point Quality Control Process. This is the most crucial stage. We perform a series of grueling tests that push the hardware components in your system to the very limit. This phase is especially important because it is here where the system either passes or fails. If it does fail, it will automatically go to one of our Diagnostic Technicians to identify and correct any problems before we ship it to you. The system may need to go back to an earlier production phase to meet stringent Alienware performance standards.

    Phase 8: (Production Phase 4 - Quality Control/Shipping Prep)
The system is undergoing the final stage of the Alienware 200-Point Quality Control Process. An Alienware Quality Inspector is in charge of inspecting your system from top to bottom for any obvious or latent defects. Our Inspectors are seasoned technicians/engineers and are very experienced in the art of perfection. Note: If the system does not pass any of our performance standards, the system may have to go back to an earlier production phase and it may slightly delay your order.

08/14/08 - Friday afternoon and it's still in Phase 8. Hopefully it goes out today. I'll call tonight just before they take off just to see whats going on with it.

    Phase 8: (Production Phase 4 - Quality Control/Shipping Prep)

Called at about 4:30mpm CST... Things are looking good! I spoke with two separate guys and both were very helpful! I was told that my system will/has shipped today and that my status will update tonight when my tracking number is emailed to me by 7pm EST. Woot! He said probably Monday or Tuesday! I can't wait!!!

Here is the email I sent on their behalf!!

    Hello Alienware!!
Today I spoke with ****** on the phone as well as ****. **** was from the customer service dept. and ****** was from the Status dept. Both of these individuals helped me promptly with my inquiries and I am much appreciative. They were very helpful and courteous. I commend them. Thanks again! I can't wait to get on my new m15x!!

I just got a repsonse! These guys really seem to be on it now that those chasis have arrived. Seems I was wrong about jumping to conclusions before. Its seems they really were just backed up due to the high volume of orders placed. Alienware is A-OK in my book... now lets just hope I don't have to live through any of the horror stories I have read about. I suppose you have to think MOST people, not all, only post when they are upset... and considering the thousands of PC's Alienware has sold, I doubt all of them are bad. You can bet I'll let you know how mine turns out. At this point though, I have very little worries.

    Go Alienware!

Here is the most recent response I got today!

    Dear Mr. ****,
Thank you for contacting Alienware's Feedback Team.
We are pleased to hear that you are satisfied with the service provided by Roland and Mike. It is always pleasant and very encouraging to receive this type of feedback from our customers.
We want to thank you for your positive comments about our representatives and we most definitely appreciate you as one of our customers.
If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us again.
    Best regards,
    Alienware Feedback Team

WOOT!!! As of 7:29pm CST, I am now in Phase 9!! Woohoo! Can't wait till Monday or Tuesday!! My order was picked up at AW-HQ at 6:02pm from fedex!! Awesome!!!

    Phase 9: (Order Shipped)
Congratulations, the order has been shipped. We only hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed building it for you.

03-19-08 - Recieved shipment. Outter box had a big ding on the corner, but there was no damage to the box inside. Computer was flawless.

04-19-08 - Ok guys... sorry about the wait... I have been working my *** off and been really busy. I have had my m15x for exactly one month as of today. So far...

(and please note that this is just a very summarized update, just basic and to the point)

    Screen and picture are flawless.

I have no problem getting the HDMI output to work with both sound and video, just a simple click in the audio options. And the picture looks great on my 62inch DLP... very minimal lag or decrease in quality.

The speakers are good... but it depends on what your looking for. If your a huge audio guy like me, then your not going to like the speakers much... they are clean, but the bass is almost non-existant and low volume sucks.

I have not had any over heating issues or cracking of the case.

All of my lighting Alien FX stuff works flawlessly and shines bright.

Very low battery time. Bow life timer is way off as well... it will tell me I have 15 minutes to save data, but then it shuts off a minute later.

I play SWG online. I have not noticed a huge difference from my desktop and my laptop. I really expected the laptop to blow my desktop away, but they run about the same. I think this is due to SWG's outdated servers and the fact that I didn't really play with my options a whole lot on the the m15x. FYI-my desktop is a Dell XPS 2.8ghz core2duo 256Nvidia8600 3gRam on Windows XP.

Still battling the Vista crap... its not bad once you get rid of the annoying pop-ups, but it is still pretty laggy. I really wanted Vista to have the "new hotness" but I really wish I would have stuck with XP. Connecting to wireless connections is a kind of a pain in the *** with Vista if there is any security enabled.

I am having an issue trying to record from a Boss BR-1600CD from my "line-in" port. It's like my laptop recieves the signal and plays it through... but to record it into Adobe Auditon 1.0, its like it plays it and records it through the mic. If I shut the mic off, I lose the audio... I have a feeling its just a setting issue, but I'm having a hard time figuring it out. Might be a Vista issue.

Overall performance of the laptop is good. I expected more, but I am by no means let down. I think my biggest issue is Vista. Ok, my ONLY issue is Vista, lol! Oh yeah... this notebook is kind of bulky, so if you buy a bag for it, I would suggest buying a 17" bag. I had to return my 15" and swap it out.

I was very scared to make this purchase. I am not exactly rich. 3000$ was ALOT of money to drop on a computer... I was scared to death that I was going to have a million problems. I have had none. Getting the laptop built and shipped was kind of a hassle and the date was pushed back a little bit, but I'm impatient anyways so that was partially my fault. All in all, this is a decent laptop. Don't be afraid to buy one.

    10-21-08 - My 7mo. Evaluation of the m15x...

All of the above mentioned issues and problems and overall badassness... nothing has really changed. My laptop has ran almost flawlessly. It seemed a little slower than expected when I first bought it, but after I "broke her in", she seems to be running great. I didnt do anything special either, I did disable a few Vista options (there is a great "how to" here on the forums for that). First off, turn off the windows sidebar... it made huge improvements to my system.

As for the bad. My chat lag is the most annoying issue I have ever had with any computer. I did call an Alienware tech and they walked me through some updates and the new bios stuff... it worked for a awhile, but it seems to be having the same issue again. Even when it was "fixed" it still did so when I was gaming... which kind of defeats the purpose of "gaming computer". I also have bad key flex... there is a fix on this that a techy can walk you through, or you can send it back free of charge to have it fixed. Neither option sounds appetizing, I dont want to send my machine through the mail again if I do not have to. I use it daily. And I simply have not had the time to do it myself. You have to do it with an agent I believe.

My biggest issue was with Vista, but with the updates and the Service pack, I am liking it more and more. In fact, I prefer it over XP right now. Once the programs catch up, it will be great. And by the way... Direct x 10 makes a HUGE difference in gaming!

I have been having this very annoying pop-up when I turn the PC on about updating drivers for my wireless device... which I have done so over and over and it still pops up... the techy couldnt figure it out either, but I didnt give him much time either. So who knows.

As with anything, you will have some issues. But again after 7mo... I think it was deffinetly worth it to own. Worth it to go in debt over because you MUST have? No. Worth it if you can afford it? I give it two thumbs up.

Welcome to the forums. Maybe edit your original post to keep us updated instead of adding new long posts each time??? Also talking about bad accents probably won't get you far just because a lot of forum members are from diverse backgrounds. Sure an accent can add communication barriers but the context I was reading it was a little negative no?

Now come on ioaniro, patience problem?
you have got to realise that these people are prepared to take your money knowing full well that they have no intention of meeting the "expected" delivery date.
They knew before he ordered that they didnt have the parts
a warning could pop up on the order saying that there is a current backlog, and it wouldnt take someone more than 5 mins every day to update to estimated shipping date to something more truthful, or even "unavailable"
    then people would know.

also this whole issue with re-stocking, check your consumer rights, regarding charging you for cancelling at phase 5, that sounds like dodgy ground to me!

In the UK it turns out re-stocking fees are illegal!

Yes, in europe restocking fee is illegal and we do not have restocking fee. You can return your laptop in the first 2 weeks for a full refund.

Funny, I been in phase 6 since yesterday too. I was hoping id Jump to phase 8 atleast today, but according to the person I talked to since my order was expedited they useally dont bother updating untill it is mid or near finished.
Mine is suppose to ship out tomorrow, but I told the techy's to REALLY MAKE SURE MINE HAS GONE THROUGH GOOD QA(Even my support ticket shows thislol, funny calling sales and they list off the notes tied to my account) lol. We will see what happens, im about to call again.

Note ever since Phase 3 I have not recieved email updates.

Now now rebmik, I personally dont think the notebook is bogus
I beleive they may have had issues with a couple of batches of components,
their only flaw was to deny problems, and run us around in circles

thats why I cancelled, I am confident that the vast majority of m15x's are tip top.

Wow!!!! I have ordered 2 items from Alienware now and ima i am used to delays. They do afterall say "estimated" ship date and they are not bound by contract to deliver the goods to you by that date it's just that you were a little impatient in the progress of the laptop. Maybe they should have said "pre order now" instead of purchase now, but at the end of the day this is a brilliant laptop and now the heating issue is being looked into properly I believe that they will be onto a killer with this notebook/Desktop Replacement. The crack issue i personally believe was a courier problem. NOT Alienware.

Yet another customer who ordered a similarly spec'ed laptop as mine after me, yet whose order is in a later stage than mine. I guess the squeaky wheel truly gets the grease...and--as an added "bonus"--a product that's obviously been rushed. Just ask alienware/user.

Just to put things into perspective, my clevo was delivered in 2 working days.
they carry stock, and stick to what they offer.
the dont give misleading information, because even though there is the get-out clause of Estimated, shipping date, no-one in their right mind would expect a laptop to take longer to source parts , build and deliver, especially considering the fact that orders were being fulfilled in the US. The launch was a month later than the US,

so people who get angry at being lied to are not impatient, you shouldnt expect to wait more than 2-3 weeks for a notebook, seriously.

I was actually very calm about it until I was just a day or so away from "estimated" ship date and my system was still in Phase 4... I didn't give them hell really... I was told I would recieve emails and updates. I never recived them unless I inquired about them. Then to top it off they tried telling me that my build wouldnt start until 03/23... which is a month after I made my order... which means another two weeks to recieve it if everythign went "as planned".

I shouldn't have to wait 6-7 weeks for my PC without a warning.

Ya, I will continue to update the second post... that was my bad.

Also, I am not degrading and one race at all... my family has many different ethnic backgrounds. My step brother is black and my two eldest brothers are spanish... same mom different dads. My mom has been married twice.

HOWever... we live in the United States.. I ordered from the United States and my PC is being built in the United States. I don't want to start a flame war with my first post... and I don't mean this in any negative way... BUT, all of our products have multiple languages on them and thats a good thing... BUT, I shouldn't have to worry about language barriers here when I buy my product in the United States.

I honestly don't mean to sound rude about this... seriously... I am in no way shape form or fashion racist. I just think that if I press "1" for english, then I should get english.

Where do you guys keep getting 5 days?

I am amazed at how welcome you have all made me feel today.

I didn't come here to ***** about anything... just simply posting my review from day 1... I am telling you what has transpired thusfar and will continue to do so.

I placed my order on Feb 20th... That was almost a month ago and it will be a full month by the time I get it. So now I'm "getting back to you".

Apparently no one noticed the part where they told me that I would have to wait until the 23rd for them to START the build.... thats when I freaked out. The rest were only inquiries.

The only reason you had to wait for the m15x is because the chassis were backordered. On Monday they recieved the bacordered part and alot of people moved up from phase 4 to 5 , I got phase 5 on tuesday and now im on pahse 8. If anybody would order the m15x today (in the US) he would probably get phase 8 next week since the parts are no longer on backorder ( as far as I know)

I'm still in Phase 6, and I placed my order more than a week before you did. I'm happy for you, but I'm tired of being leap-frogged by those who ordered after me and had to wait on the same backordered parts. Their MRP system needs work.

My system better have zero issues, or AW will hear it from me.

It's all good man... lol, like I wasd saying, I wasn't really freaking out... I just to know where I stand ya know.

Ya, thats the one part of the research I didn't really get into because the ship date said 03/07 and I knew that thats "estimated", so give or take a few... just freaked when they said build date of 03/23, lol

Good to know. Now that they seem to have the parts, everythign seems to be runnign smoothly. Just a lack of communication really... so far Alienware is A-Ok with me as long as I don't have any of the same issues I have read here in the "horoor stories" section, lol!

Not sure if that was directed toward me or not... come to think of it, I didn;t really think too much about it :( I'll look through my post and edit out any such information.

Yuck! I wouldn't be happy... maybe they had an issue with your during oneof the pahses and it had to go back a step... or maybe they simply just didnt update yoru status.... that why I called alot, I dont trust the website.

For what its worth i ordered last Friday(6 days ago) and its in Phase 8 now. However, with all the issues being reported I threatened to cancel my order.

They upgraded my GPU for free and assured me it would not ship until my unit was inspected and tested to ensure it did not have any of the issues that had been reported in any of the NBR Forums.

I understand my experience has not been the same as everyone elses. But Alienware has been nothing but professional and courteous with me thus far.

Long ways to go however since I dont even have my baby in hand yet.

You don't buy the free upgrade? Meaning you think they are lying to me? Or you think i'm lying to you?

Either way, they saw my postings in the other threads and felt it was just good business to try to keep me as a customer. Ultimately I will not know if this was the right decision for me(to not cancel) until i receive and have my system for a few weeks i suppose. What good would the free upgrade be if it overheats and downclocks?

I was willing to give you a pass when one previous poster questioned you on bringing up the "accent" but after I read the above I just about fell off my chair.

Are you saying that anyone who speaks English must speak in an American accent to qualify it as English? Yes the business is conducted in America but companies employ call centres from basically anywhere.

So an Englishman speaking with an English accent isn't speaking in English at all? Wow...you sir, may not be racist but you're as ignorant as they come.

You missed the point. You are ignorant for even trying to point out a fault that you apparently did not take the time to consider logically. I very specifically said that I did not want to start a flame war and I wasn't intending on degrading anyone person or race. You again did not read the text as intended. Maybe it is my fault for not being more clear, however I thought I already explained myself.

No, I'm not saying anything of the above mentioned text you put out there. You are putting words in my mouth.

How ****ing hard is it to understand my issue with not being able to understand someone!? My issue is NOt with the accent itself... or any accent for that matter... my issue is with an accent that you cannot clearly understand. There are accents where people speak clearly and there are accents where people can barely use the english language. I even run into white gangsters in the mall that can't even speak english.

I have no issue with Alienware or it's employess... the first person I spoke with had a spanish accent and she was great! She took my order, she spoke very proper and helped me with all of my needs. I never had a hard time understanding anything she said. She was very nice and very helpful.

In fact, most of the guys I spoke with were cool with the exception of one single person that spoke as if he had been speaking english for a mere couple of days. Yes, your right, this irritates me. An accent is just that, an accent. I'm from Fort Worth, Tx, I have my own accent... ever been to Wisconsin? Those guys have some funny-ass accents as well. The problem is not the accent itself... the problem is an accent that you can't understand. If you have a problem with this, then you my friend are the ignorant one and taking things way out of context.'

Maybe, I should have worded it different. Maybe it is my fault. But seriously man, you are blowing this way out of proportion.

    OK, lol...

I have put in the updates for today...

Another change to note... is that I re-worded a few lines to better explain myself and reasoning behind frustration. I don't anyone to think that I'm a bigot or racist or anything... I have no problems with anyone at Alienware or anyone here on this forum... I am just frequently misunderstood? I don't know. Rest assured, I am not racist! Lol!

Also, I added in a couple of the emails exchanged from the sales reps and stuff.

Hopefully, she gets shipped out today.
