I was comparing my m15x light pipe to the ones attached in the pictures in the thread below started by Absinthe42, and my light pipe seems really thin:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=217541&page=2

I compared my m15x, which in the pictures, has a blue keyboard, green touch controls and a green light pipe with manu4's m15x, which has a green keyboard and red light pipe. Pics of manu4's m15x and my m15x are attached. Manu4's m15x pic is on the far left, the other 4 pics are my m15x.

As you can see, my light pipe looks significantly smaller and thinner compared to manu4's light pipe. The light on my 'light pipe' 'leaks' through the gap where the black border plastic of the LCD and silver plastic meet. However, on manu4's the light from his light pipe seems shine through the silver plastic itself and not from the small crack/gap of where the black border plastic and silver plastic meet.

    What are your thoughts?

I am a UK resident and ordered the m15x off alienware UK

It's because of the quality of his pics, if you look closely at the keyboard, the pic is "double" if see what I mean? It looks like two of the same pictures were placed on top of each other and one of them moved to the right a bit making the light pipe look bigger. I guess you call that blurry? Don't worry, my light pipe is as thin as yours, it comes out where the silver top and the black bezel come together.

Here is another pic of an m15x light pipe posted by tacomenace 21 which seems to show a light pipe which is much thicker than mine.

So the pic I posted in post 26 is also blurry? Whew...that's a relief. I would hate to send this gadget back to alienware

Again, it looks blurred. Maybe you are right because on the Alienware site the light seems to come out of the plastic but it's not like that for me and many other forum users. I think it's just the pics.

Evilwill32 is right, I noticed this difference between my previous and current m15x. The old one's "light pipe" lights leaked from the silver plastic while this one doesn't. It is not bothering me though.

Thanks nbaumann, looks like we need more feedback at the moment though. Anyway, it's time that I go to bed, it's 12:47 am here in UK

Mine goes through the plastic just fine, thankfully. It makes it look a whole lot better.
