At irregular periods while I use my m15x, the laptop goes into sleep or hibernation (not too sure), and interrupt me while I am doing something. I have restored all power settings to defaults in vista, so should this be happening? It's so irritating....and it happens every session I have with this laptop...

Another problem I am having is that the m15x randomly goes into stealth mode after a while whether graphics is on integrated or not. I know because the alien notification when you press the touch controls thingy comes up.

*THERE* Just as I was typing this post, my m15x screen went black, the music from iTunes stopped, and my keyboard lights turned off, with the only light being from the power button. When I pressed the power button, the screen came back almost immediately. It's not like this all the time- this time the screen goes black with keyboard doing the same and when I press the power button, I am restored pretty much immediately to the vista login page which says 'User name' the 'Locked', prompting me for a password.

Other times when the screen and keyboard go black and the music stops, I press the power button and it takes quite a while to get back to the vista 'Locked' login page. During these times, when I press the power button, the computer looks a bit like it's starting up, going through the alienhead and blue bar at the bottom, followed by the message 'Press F10 for Alienware Respawn v2.0' then followed by resuming windows loading bar, then only the vista login page saying 'Locked'

Can you guys help me on this...it's so damn infuriating

i think roswell is only for the u.s. i think you're going to have to take a gamble with tech support. hope you get a person who knows what they are doing

    hi evilwill32
oh look, its that word i hate "hibernate" arggh!
when you do a disc cleanup is there a file in there for hibernation that is over 2gb in size. if so and you wont be using hibernation you can delete it and get that space back on your hard drive. if there is not a file in there and you have already deleted it then the problem most probably is to do with sleep mode.

i couldnt get my m15x back awake from hibernation last friday and tech support instructed me to take my base plate off and press a reset button on the motherboard. not the normal thing to do for a hibernate problem me thinks.

let us know if you want to use hibernate in the future and also if that file is in the cleen up. then we can think about what else it might be.
