I got my m5550 credited today when I called the Roswell Crew!

Here is the brief description of the lifespan of my m5550.

    -10 months of ownage
    -4 times of repairs.
    -3 GPU swaps
-1 year warranty ends this May.
-1 processor upgrade from 1.66Ghz from 2.00Ghz (done by AW)
    -LCD upgrade (done by AW)
-wifi card upgrade (done by AW)
-Hard Drive upgrade (done by AW)
-quite a few of LAN parties ;)

    Problem which wasn't fixed:
"unknown weird video skipping and stuttering in games."

I will post my new m15x specs and AW credits once I get emailed by Alienware.

Special thanks goes to Stone, a forum member here!

Any questions and comments are welcomed

Yes, good luck on the new laptop!

Now, a brief announcement from me. I am getting the m15x. I know it will come with a 7200rpm free fall hard drive, vista home premium, and the lightup keyboard and possibly lightscribe. Alienware will, from an email from steve :), revoke the restocking fee! The m15x is lighter, cooler, and is the perfect computer for me. I just want to thank alienware-steve for helping us out, and I hope we send the m9750 back within the next two days.

edit: Yes, it will have lightscribe and the 160gb free fall hard drive.

@Crystak - 3GPU swaps is nothing. I believe on my M5550 I had around 5 GPU swaps in 14 months, a heatsink replaced, and I'm pretty sure the motherboard was also replaced. Some crazy ****. :)

Yea, 3 GPU swaps and nothing was fixed. It's hard to believe, but this is nothing compared to what Stone and a lot of other people had gone through.

So you got the base config plus the upgrades you mentioned, is that correct? If that is the case, you do know that i will be slower than the M9750 you are sending back right? It is also only a little more than 1/2 lb. lighter and will actually run hotter than the M9750 you had. Just a heads before you make another bad decision.

you are all completely nuts for continuing to deal with a company that has such a low opinion of its customers!.

I seriously wish you all good luck, but you shouldnt be relying on luck now should you?

all the best with your systems! :)

ah yes wasnt that sword incident in Taiwan? that was funny as....in the end it was a simple robbery. when you think about it, same as being killed for your laptop.

and of course I know its mean but the biggest punishment to AW would be for everyone cheesed off to take their business somewhere else
Heck I think its next month the Clevo 15" 8800 notebook is supposed to be launched... :)

I also agree so I am going to close it before it goes any further.

I hope you enjoy the m15x.
