    Hi all,

I just recently received my m15x about 2 weeks ago. Well, now I am starting to have problems with my LCD bezel. Here are a few examples....

    View attachment 28102

You will notice here that there is a growing gap between the upper and lower part of the LCD bezel.

You will notice in this picture a scratch under the camera.

This is another gap growing between the upper and lower part. It makes a very loud "clack" when you press it together.

This one is interesting. The light is actually bleeding through the plastic.

I recently had sleep issues that were resolved when I had to purchase ram directly through Alienware. (When I end up going home, I will do some extra tests on the ram to determine what could have been the problem). Now I am having problems with my Bluetooth turning on and off on its own every so often. I have to reboot the lappy in order for it to be somewhat normal again. I really want to love this laptop, but I am starting to wonder if I should have shopped someplace else. What are my chances on getting a refund at this point? Should I even bother? Just wanted some feedback. :)

the first picture i dont really see a problem. if the lcd bezel is have a problem you could send it back to have your chassis replaced. that would fix your problem. you just have to hope that AW actually fixes the comp while its there.

getting a refund through AW is pretty hard. they usually wont issue a refund unless you let them repair it once.

I was afraid of that. I could not get any better angle on that pic but there is a gap very similar to the one on the top. I will see if I can get a better pic of it. The light being brighter towards the bottom was the best indicator of the gap. Thanks for the feedback exiled. Alienware has definitely offered to fix the bezel, but I am afraid it will come back with even more problems. Paranoia starts setting in. :)

I hope it doesn't take a month... I need this baby for school! *crossing fingers*

    Thanks for the well-wishes. :)

I live about 20 minutes from headquarters, but I was told that they would have to send out the laptop to Tennessee. I originally thought that it would be sent around the corner from me and I would get it back in about a week, but I was told to expect 2 weeks..maybe even more due to the holidays. Arrgghhh! (worst charlie brown impersonation... ever!) :D

the repair facility is suppose to be in texas :/. thats where i have to send mine for the infamous hinge issue >>.

i guess ill update with a story and pictures once i get the time :/. its finals week -_- and its depressing that i have to play pc games on a petnium 4 with ddr1 ram and a x800 video card

you should just walk to the facility give it to them and watch them fix it

Had to send mine off to Texas for the hinge repair. Took a month to get it back but they did a good job.

If you are sending it to the Memphis depot you are in luck. They are a Dell repair facility and are much faster than Texas.

I suspect you will be sending it to Houston, though.

Don't forget to call in the repair to the Roswell group at Alienware.

    1-866-ROSWELL Mon. - Fri.

    Good luck!

when they shipped my laptop after i ordered it, they shipped it from miami so i think they might build the laptops there and they have a repair facility in texas?

wont it be kind of stupid to have me ship my laptop to texas then. i mean if i ship it to texas wont they just be losing money when they have to ship it to miami for repairs. they should of just put miami on the shipping label instead of texas :/.

To add, I also asked if it would be sent to Miami since I only live 20 mins away from Alienware and they said nope..it goes to Tennessee. I am just as curious, but I am seriously contemplating returning my m15x right now. Inner turmoil is a pain in the rear. :D

Honestly? Considering their poor support, I personally would recommend returning your system. I'm in the process of "talking" with them about what my options are, and they all involve shipping my system back for something there's no reason they can't fix onsite.

I am leaning more towards returning now due to my bluetooth problem. It continues to turn on and off on its own for no reason. The only remedy is to reboot the system. I will call Roswell tomorrow.
