I've just noticed out of the blue my Alienware m15x right speaker is not working, my left speaker is fine but the right one doesn't produce any sound. Though if I hold my hand around the right corner of the AW the sound comes back leading me to believe my right speaker is loose.

I was thinking about taking off the back of the AW & having a look tomorror but while broswing pictures off the AW's insides ( http://4help.alienware.com/cgi-bin/...2VhcmNoX3RleHQ9bTE1eCBvcGVu&p_li=&p_topview=1 ) I can't seem to work out where the speaker is, is it underneath the graphics card?

I'll probably also reseat the built-in speakers cable too just in case, don't worry I've reseated the AW keyboard cable before.

And yes I've made sure it isn't a software issue, made sure everything is working in the sound settings, tested it with headphones (work perfectly), & hooked it up to my personnel speakers without a hitch. And remember the sound comes back on whenever I hold the right corner of AW meaning the right speaker must be loose?

And anybody removed or reconnected the speaker(s) before?

it may well be that the speaker is underneath the GPU. you could therefore remove the GPU heatsink, the GPU itself (it's slot-mounted, no soldering, if i remember correctly) and have a look at the speaker.

    no guarantees though.

Mine arrived from the factory like that... They replaced the case in the end I think.
