yeah he can go gouge others who are stupid enough to send him $75 for something he got free. Greed makes me want to puke. I'll happily just give Dell my money than this guy.....what a joke.

You guys can haggle with Dell to get pretty close to 20% off or more with a coupon. With my laptop I haggled a free alienware mouse, and it shipped to me but alienware didn't put my full address, so it got delayed and not delivered to me. So I ended up calling customer support and I escalated to a manager....lo and behold: the manager gave me a $100 off coupon to use on Dell and Alienware products.

There is no price-gouging going on here. If someone wins a car in a lottery and they decide to sell it for less than what it's worth, are they a price-gouger? No. Your understanding of this concept is wrong.

Let's say you have a 20% off coupon for sale:

By selling these coupons, we establish a "market price." A fair price is anything less 20% of the product price you want to purchase with the coupon, minus the cost of the coupon. So, if you want something that is worth $1499: 1499 - 80% = $299.80 in savings. If the savings are higher than the coupon's price, less the difference of the savings and the coupon (savings - coupon price): $299.80 - $50 = $249.80. Therefore, you are not price-gouging because the coupon is worth "up to" $299.80 and you're only charging $50, leaving a $249~ difference which is higher than the cost of the coupon. MB > MC.

Sure, selling what you've gotten for free may seem wrong, but that's subjective. And if you were in my current position (financially), I'm sure you'd attempt to sell them as well.

I would ask how you can advertise and post about your selling of coupons even more blatantly than I did without being banned, but I don't think I want to hear the answer, if an answer exists besides "ignorance" or "bad luck."

I'm usually not so petty as to post about things like this, but... That is absurd.

I didn't even know you were banished. The rule has changed since, so I suppose it was reversed?

I had it in my signature and the Marketplace. Both were deleted, and then undeleted after the rule changed.

10 % coupons are everywhere on the web so what you are paying for is an extra 10% and after you pay someone $75 you are essentially paying for 5%... We were just saying asking $75 dollars on a forum where people usually help each other is greedy. If someone will pay it great but just saying it how it is. Its ok to make a little something but make it worth it;-)

Now let's say you won 30 cars in a lottery... Real garbage cars that you wouldn't drive if someone paid you to. Said "lottery cars" all will blow up (expire) if they aren't used in 1 day, but you have no intention whatsoever of using a single one of them. So these things have absolutely no tangible value to you and will be gone in a day as you're way too cool for that junk. Do you attempt to sell them for cash and hope someone will pay you for something with zero value to you? Remember, you're too awesome to drive these clunkers so they will inevitability blow up in 1 day. Or do you hand them out to folks that would be thrilled to use these fine machines, save them from their expiration date, and actually need the cars?

Yeah, that sounds a lot more like what is really happening. Lol I don't care either way though.

That's ok. It's your decision to not save more money.

Even at 1000 dollars, which is the lowest Alienware price, you save 200 dollars with 20%. It's 100 with 10%. If the coupon was 75 dollars, you still save additional 25 dollars. Higher the price of the computer, greater the save. 3000 dollars purchaser could save additional 225 dollars by purchasing this coupon.

It is the coupon owner's every right to sell it at a price and 75 dollars is a reasonable price for this. Don't like saving more? Don't buy it. Go earn your own. Quit whining.

I have some 15% that I will give for free and I will also tell you how you can get an amazing deal on the AW 15 and AW 17 using the coupon + an other trick.
(Just paid $1400+ taxes for the AW 15 GTX 980M, 16GB RAM, 128GB M2 SSD+1 TB HDD with the 20% coupon (only got one though) and using my trick ).
Will send that by PM because of the free loaders and ppl who were mean to me here :p

I wished these codes worked on some accessories that are useful. They don't even work for the Tactx, Roccat, and Klipsch accessories, and they're advertised with Alienware computers.
Oddly enough, the coupons do work with Dell Advantage usgae, so you can save a penny or two.

The "trick" is negotiation and finding the right representative. I managed to get a quote for similar specs for $1,323.08, and that is without the coupon. I'm considering it. Can't deny it's a good deal. I'm expecting a call-back tonight. But if they don't, I'll call myself and see what happens from there.

I hate BGA crap, but I'm willing to spend $1124~ just to see how it is. The 1080p screen apparently has some "ghosting" issues. If that's the case, it's going back.

Sorry I don't believe you one sec that you got quoted 40% off the AW 15 with no coupon for same specs as mine.
And my trick doesn't involve any negotiation.

Still I dont believe you got same specs as mine quoted for $1320. Most you will get is ~20% on on a $2500+ system from an account manager.

It's more likely I'm so desperate to look cool like you, I lied about saving $80 more than you did.

    Yeah look like it!
And don't forget, that's before coupon like you stated! You said $1124 after coupon right? That's $1000 off retail , props to you ! ;)

Yeah, I didn't tell him about the coupon until after I got the quote. With the coupon it would be around $1100. It's too late now, though. The rep. never called me like he said he would.

Sale appears to be over. Have to wait for another.

There should be one around Memorial Day and then again when school starts, if history serves as a record.

Found another coupon that's valid for any Dell Advantage member or Member Purchase Program purchase.

    ?4ZG11G3WRVBT3

It does not combine with other discounts, though. This coupon has restrictions.
