So only a clevo 5870 gpu works to enable the 120hz wow sad, it probably some crack or a long way to do something i hope so, these monitors are really amazing.

It goes over where the cables connect to the monitor. Really pointless since it's for aesthetics but if your system faces the wall like mine no one ever sees it.

No, it's based on the monitor. The monitor will only do 120hz via DVI. Your computer does have a display port on the left side. You can get a display port to DVI cable.

    No just one.

Response time and hz both play a part.

I think your thinking of a dual link adapter versus two adapters. That is usually needed to run the higher resolutions.

In theory it's suppose to work. Like I've said before I never got it working with the Alienware GPUs. If it works for you then I'll have a bunch of questions. ;)

Cool enougth, have a brand new AW2310 120 hz monitor, BUt my NEW Alienware m15X with a HD 5850 CANT' run´120..

What the is going on ?!?!?!

Maybe it would be a good idea to keep the diaplay port to dvi, if ATi gonna make the 120 hz opdate ?

I like the monitor regardless if it's 120Hz or not, plus I didn't own an external monitor to begin with so I still needed something.

Regarding the cable if you bought from monoprice(dot)com it was probably cheap enough it's not worth returning. If it cost you a lot then return it.

In case people are still wondering, the AW2310 does 120hz if you use the Displayport to DVI-D dual link cable. Be prepared, the cable is about $100 at Fry's.

I've got it running with a single ATI 5870.
