mostly at my desk, very little unplugged

    10) What OS do you prefer? Windows (XP or Vista), Mac OS, Linux, etc.
Vista is ok...but I'd like to have the WIndows 7 upgrade option
    Screen Specifics

    11) From the choices below, what screen resolutions would you prefer?
    a-c is good enough
    a. WXGA – 1280x800 or occasionally 1280x768; For people who like big text and icons that are easy to read. Less stuff fits on the screen, which translates into more scrolling.
    b. WXGA+ – 1440x900; A modest bump over WXGA. Text and icons are a bit smaller. A little more stuff fits on the screen.
    c. WSXGA+ – 1680x1050; The middle ground. Again, text and icons are smaller than WXGA+, and more stuff fits onto the screen. Good for having applications open side by side, like a web browser while playing a video.
    d. WUXGA - 1920x1200; Very small text and icons, that can be hard to read. Lots of stuff fits on the screen, which means less scrolling. Good for applications that require a high level of detail like CAD or Photo Editing.

    12) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen?
    it doesn't matter
    Build Quality and Design

    13) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?
a little but not as much as performance
    14) When are you buying this laptop and how long do you want this laptop to last?
within a month and it should last 5 years
    Notebook Components

    15) How much hard drive space do you need; 80GB to 500GB? Do you want a SSD drive?
around 250GB and the SSD is not necessary
    16) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a CDRW/DVD-ROM, DVD Burner or Blu-Ray drive?

a basic DVD/ CD burner/ player. pretty much anything so i can watch/ burn dvds and cds. i dont need Blu-Ray

Thanks for any help you can give me. this will be my first laptop so i dont really know what is good/bad. i've been looking at the m15x and right now, thats my favorite, but like i said, im not really experienced with laptops. Thanks again

The Clevo M860ETU is a good option to consider.

Either wait for news on the supposed m15x refresh or get a NP8662.

Edit: I see the former option wont really apply.

I'm not the most knowledgeable on the subject, but I believe Clevo just makes the chassis. What I think people are referring to is the Sager NP8662 15" notebook. Sager is a very reliable company known for providing gaming notebooks at good prices.

Again, I may be wrong about Clevo... if someone can provide better info?

Edit: I did some looking around and it seems that companies like Sager rebrand the product Clevo makes.

Clevo not only make their own notebooks they also manufacture notebooks for mainstream companies.

The last statement is correct. Sager is juts a reseller who rebrands clevo (and the like) notebooks.
