Hello guys, i am new here xD
just find out that there is such a great forum for alienware users! :D
I got my m15x last month, kinda disppoint with the RAM..
    after read their threads here, i am decided to go with 64 bit vista and those babies : Crucial 4GB (2 x 2GB) 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
will that be a good idea? I heard your guy talk about heatsink, but which on will fit on m15x better? any idea?
last but not need, do i need to call AW when i upgrade the RAM so i don't get my warrenty void
really good job on the posts here....so informative....playing crysis is faster after i got the driver update for the 8800 -> 9800 :)

I'm not sure about calling AW before you do it, but it wouldn't hurt to call and find out! ;)

As for installing the RAM, it will be really easy as you'll soon find out, and the RAM modules that you picked out seem just fine. :)

As far as I know, the heatsinks shouldn't hinder or decide which RAM you get at all. All RAM are the same size (same pin amount and overall volume for the most part) so no matter what you go with, as long as it has the right amount of pins you should be fine! :D

    Hope this helps!

that RAM you chose is overkill, your motherboard won't support anything faster than PC-5300 667mhz. same goes for heatsinks, totally useless on such (comparatively) slow RAM.

if you've already got 4Gb from AW, sure. no point in buying more of the same.
