First off, which laptop do you have? Secondly, what graphics card is it and what MXM type is it? (The link's broken so I have to ask here)

The laptop will NOT boot with a slave card. You CAN flash it to a master card, but you'd have to do a 'blind flash'-basically, flashing it without using a display, relying purely on accuracy on the keyboard. I'm not even sure if you can do that though.

What graphics card is it? I'm not sure what MXM slot the M5700 r2 has, but the card has to be the same MXM type.

I don't think you can destroy the card through blind flashing it but I'm not sure.

I'm not an expert on GPU flashing. Wait until someone more knowledgeable come on and ask them.

And I'm definetely not sure if it'll work with your laptop.

you need to make the drive bootable before you trow the bios in there zfactor explains real good how to do it and you need to put ATI flash in the drive too with the bios here is how to make your drive bootable http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=246530 and here is how you flash with ATIflash http://www.notebookforums.com/thread230061.html

I can explain you how to blind flash BIOS on ur USB Floppy make AUTOEXEC.bat (you can make it in notepad - just save in .bat extension) with this command :

    mode con codepage prepare=((866) ega3.cpi)
    mode con codepage select=866
    keyb uk,,keyboard.sys
    atiflash.exe -p -f 0 yourBIOS.bin

Now you can blind flash ur GPU BIOS.

P.S. don't forget save your original BIOS. You can do it with flashrom -s 0 my_bios.rom command

Hmm...not too sure about this. Right now I'm using a slave gtx 280m (M17x) as my primary without having to jump through any hoops. All I did was swap heat sinks and it booted normally. Edit: Granted I have a different model than OP has, that might be the reason why.
