Mods, what do you think of making a new section for the new Pascal Alienwares? The "2015 Alienware" section should be reserved for Maxwell models only (to avoid confusion).

Just call one section Maxwell Alienwares and the other Pascal Alienwares.
Although, what would we do about the Graphics Amplifier Owners' Lounge thread?

Most of the threads are not about the GPU, so it should not be GPU specific. I understand some people want to emphasize the GPU is not upgradable, but not necessary. A laptop generation is designed together, so they often share the same BIOS problems, etc. even though they have different GPU or CPU.

Within the laptop generation category, maybe owners threads could be systemboard specific, but might have to wait until they come out to see how many different systemboards there are. (Do GTX 1060 use different socket than GTX 1070? Do RX 470 use different socket than ... ? Is there a separate systemboard for higher power/heat GPUs like GTX 1080?)

I think we shoul djust wait. Now we have a AW17 and AW15 thread but in the end those are exactly the same laptops on the inside with just a more wide chassis. This might be the case with the newer models as well.

Please use this sub-forum for the newly released models.

    Thanks
