I'm highly considering archiving a lot of the known solutions of Alienware specific problems all in one place. This should serve as a direct and easy reference to potential solutions for problems that may be recurring with more than one person. I feel that some people may be overwhelmed with the amount of information that is on these forums and are not sure where or how to look for an answer to a question.
Of course, the reason I'm asking is that I'm not going to be able to do it all on my own. Other than the m15x, I don't have any personal experience with any of the other systems that Alienware offers. I thought it'd be self-rewarding if people were able to archive what they know about certain issues or even if they found potential solutions to problems they themselves have encountered. I think doing this would allow new Alienware customers to have a more enjoyable (or less distasteful) experience with their new notebook/desktop.
What do you guys think? If you want to give it a go, I'm going to need volunteers.

Sounds like a good idea, so let me get thisstraight, you want to take the useful guides/threads and load them into Word for example, where thay will be stored on a server to be accessed by users whenever they want...
I'l help, my Care & Maintenance list should help too...
You might want to run it past Chaz too, it might be already carried out in some way?

Well, I was going to get into the specifics after I got the "OK" from the community. I was planning on archiving this on a separate forum so that we can provide and receive input from users efficiently. If there was a solution that did not work for a certain person, we can further refine our solution into one that works for him. Mind you, the forums will not replace these forums. It just merely serves to keep information in one spot and I do believe that is more efficient than uploading them onto a program like "Word."
Starting out should be no problem. I already have my own server running and have run/maintained forums in the past. Once we have that set up, we can start archiving on common issues and their solution. If anyone has experienced an issue that they were able to fix, they could pitch in and create guides on how to fix these issues.
Either that or add a "sub-sub-forum" onto this forum specifically for archiving known solutions. Users can post about their experience to a certain issue and provide a detailed guide on how to fix the issue.
In any case, my main goal is to have information in one accessible spot. Users can cross reference to the said forum/"sub-sub-forum" or vice versa when they're helping people with certain issues.
And yes OB! I would love to have you help. In fact, seeing how you were able to archive so many guides so well and efficiently, I would have actually tried to enlist you had you already volunteered! -
sounds like a good idea as long as it doesnt take the members away from here.
check with Chaz first though just in case you get all these great ideas and then he says bugger off(in a nice way).

Put yourself in the shoes of an ordinary customer who is having problems. What do they do? Call Alienware, most likely. The more savvy person would do a Google search. A search for a specific issue will most likely bring up the NBR Forums, and the appropriate thread to answer the question.
It's a neat idea, but redundant. milcs already has his m15x thread which details many m15x issues, and which ones have been fixed, and there is plenty more information in the m15x general info sticky.
You're free to do it . . . but IMO you are best off offering suggestions in milcs's m15x thread. Perhaps the two of you can collaborate on improving his thread further. -
Well, I was thinking of primarily archiving software/OS related issues, like: "Why are my quick touch keys unresponsive?" or "I have a [so and so graphics card] and I still get horrible gameplay, what do I do?"
Something to that extent.
Need some input on something.
