    Hi all,

I hope that somebody can help me.. I own a 2nd hand Area 51m 7700 and have unfortunately managed to fry not only 1 of my hard disks but also the IDE controller on my motherboard....

Replacing the disk is not the problem, however I'm having difficulty sourcing a motherboard, which i believe is a Clevo D900T model... Does anybody (other than Clevo), supply replacement motherboards for this model? If so, does anyone know what sort of price i will be looking at to replace it?

The laptop ran like a dream for 6 months and i'm understandably gutted..

you are looking at $300-400 for a motherboard upgrade kit for a Clevo D900T if you contact Sager or its resellers (Powernotebooks, XoticPC, etc...)

Recommend you to email Sager, or PM one of our Powernotebook reps in this forum, Paladin44

D900T does not come with IDE connection for HDD, it should be Serial ATA. The connector cable for 2 HDDs goes for $10.

Good luck with the mothboard swap, if that is what you really have to do, it kills about 2-3 hours... I know, I dismantled my friends D900T to fix it too.

P.S. You should really post this in the Sager section, because you would get better feedback.

Here is a web site to buy the motherboard http://www.rjtech.com little pricey but cheaper than getting it from Alienware
