Remember when the new m17x shots came out and they released additional information about that huge curvature screen and the Alienware/Logitech accessories that would be coming soon... well any release date on those?
-
-
no release date yet but i assure you as soon as we find something out we will post it
we always do -
Woot OK I want that sweet AW mouse that I saw. XD Thanks Moo.
-
Logitech? there's probably some OEM partner behind the scenes, but why do you say Logitech? they don't usually do this sort of stuff...
-
because it looks like a rebrand of the G9
according to every one else -
well that's some BS. i've seen a few mice in my time (i write technology reviews for a gaming website, check my sig
), and i can see no similarity to the G9.
-
-
no wonder you have 6.5k posts. the only thing similar is the layout of the DPI indicator and DPI level switching buttons. the mouse wheel looks similar too. but the overall shape, not to mention the big selling point of the G9, the exchangeable grips, aren't the same.
-
gotta admit Logitech had to play a role in that one
-
i'm not so sure. i think it's some random asian OEM job.
-
They don't look the same but there is NO way you can say that they aren't similar. The shape IS very similar (to the smooth grip on the G9), lights and DPI switch in the same place, button style is the same, same click wheel...I see really only 3 differences, the black piece in the centre with the light up AW head, the different lights, and the grip (not removable and slightly different shape). The only other possible difference I can think of is it doesn't look like you can change the weights.
There are many similarities between the G9 and the new AW mouse, and at the VERY LEAST the new AW mouse is based on the G9. -
More important than all these external factors is the sensor itself. If we could find out the sensor in it, then we would be able to confirm whether or not it is based on/is the G9 itself.
-
i disagree. with that said, i'm gonna contact AW's press relations office and see if i can get some sort of statement.
-
Good Luck, might wanna try Dell to
-
good point. now if only i could find a contact adress...
-
It's the same shape as G9 and that's why i will stay away from this lol .
The keyboard looks goo but TBH i prefer notebook-like keys
(looks like i will stay with my DKTBoard lol)

I asked about the release date and the best answer I have right now is "before the end of the year". I'll be sure to update you guys as soon as more information is available. -
An example of them doing 'this sort of stuff' is the GamePanel display on the Dell M1730.

I think those pesky green little martians had something to do with it
-
That's the new Logitech rapid scroll wheel, I'm looking at my 2 Logitech mice that all have that same one...
-
Thanks Chaz! Can't wait to get the set!
-
the photograph's far too blurry to judge that accurately. there are similarities, but for now, all we can say is that the scroll wheel is presumably made of metal and has a darker strip in the middle.
unless you have more pictures? -
That's just far too obvious to ignore. And didn't someone in that initial post (the m17x release photos) with those original pictures state that they were from Logitech?
-
i just remembered i have a contact at Logitech - what're the odds of them giving any info?
-
W00t! Ask!
-
yeah, worth a try i guess. don't get your hopes up though, AW hasn't responded yet.

Aristotelhs2060 Notebook Virtuoso
why would they for an item that will be released until the end of the year?
-
