Man I hope you can still or Win Vista on this next gen, not a fan of Win 8.

 

Wait, OMG, PLEASE not more white background crap! Why?

So, what you are telling me is if I answer "yes" to this update (see screen shot in spoiler) I am going to have a crappy white Mac-ish UI when it is done updating? And no fancy alien head? That really sucks.

I actually like my tweaked Windows 8 better than Windows 7, but the default UI and color schemes that it ships with are simply horrid... looks like trash by default. What on earth are these people from Redmond with a lousy flare for aesthetics doing messing up our stuff? Somebody fire them, please. Put some intelligent folks in charge of driving new PC trends.

Edit: just answered my own question. NAY!!! This is no bueno. And, there is no way to change the color scheme of the UI. Somebody needs to talk to the person that approved this. We need another update to put it back the way it was before. (Or, add for user customization of the color scheme for it.)

I suppose we can expect a similar nasty UI update for AlienRespawn unless someone gets a clue. For now, mine is still the sleek looking black with alien head.

I absolutely hate the new look...the white background is just revolting.

 

Looks like someone over at AW has a Windows 8 obsession....bad move guys. Just plain bad....there are SOME users who still prefer Windows 7 over the "hip and trendy" (cough, cough ) Win 8 GUI.

 

My latest AlienAutopsy has stopped working. It won't even open when I double click now I've not changed anything stupid thing

I got a new alienware 17 and went into autopsy and found system history. In my critical events it states a "WPN connection failure" warning - does anyone know what this is, if it is a problem and how I stop it happening?

No, that's the only choice. I uninstalled it because I didn't like the white Windows 8 Metro themed look the new version was sporting. It was too ugly to tolerate.

 

the new killer driver is the same way.. but it is at least not as ugly..

 

At the risk of pointing out to everyone what a noob I am ........... What is Alien Autopsy?

 

It is a handy Alienware-branded version of PC-Doctor, with some added functionality. It does a nice job of testing things and it is a nifty if not seldom needed utility. On Dell systems it is called Dell PC Checkup.

In addition to diagnostic tools, the interface shows your service tag and warranty information, has links to the drivers and downloads, owner's manual, etc.

Thanks Mr. Fox. I couldn't find any reference to it on the Dell Australia site and all my installations disks are in Russian It might be there but I wouldn't know

 

Yeh mate, if you go on the link there you might get an option to download for the Asia pacific region and Australia, though there is no difference between either of the sites
