The device dimensions are much larger than the old backpack so that it will fit the m17x. On the product highlights it says it will fit two 15" notebooks or one 17" notebook.

I think it looks alot nicer than their old Odyssey Backpack, maybe they'll streamline the messenger bag as well?

That must be the size of a small guy! :D
It does look nice... But I would rather have it with the little Alienhead. Simple and plain is the new trend. :)

wow the bag is actually cheaper than the other one. the bag also looks better imo. its much cleaner and it doesnt stick out as much. the bag will also match the m15x/17x. i still perfer my north face surge over the new Orion bag tho

it looks amazing but it screams "steal me and the expensive laptop inside" id prefer a more mainstream backpack that doesnt tell people you have 3000 dollars in it.

That's exactly it... Couldn't have said it better...

But maybe if they came out with a backpack that says "M15X" on the outside... then you'd never have to worry about your bag getting stolen... I keed I keed...

I like this new, cleaner design direction in which Alienware is heading.

I like the bag but Many people know Alienware. So they look at it and know it a powerful laptop so it basicly STEALME or KILL ME FOR IT. When I went for the Aleinware 5550I and everyone who knows little about computer heard the name Alienware and went they make great systems. That kinda scared me.

That alienware face plate on the back your asking for trouble. Unless it comes with a real Gun I would not touch it with a 10 foot pole.

lolz, that is just what i thought, especially at my place AW is like the celebrities. You got one, and EVERYONE want to "TRY" it. \

GUY A: "Hey, can i surf internet on your notebook for like 10min." which becomes like an hour

... i still love my voyager backpack it keeps me low profile, wish i can covered the front alienware head though since the bottom of the screen already have the word ALIENWARE :D :D

    Thank you for this thread!

Here is the four year old Alienware backpack I have my Area-51m 766 in. I'm not sure what it is called, but it has been extremely durable. I work for a freight railroad and have lugged this with me for four years now, tossing it in and out of the vans they haul us around in, and carrying it in all kinds of weather and temperatures, hauling it tens of thousands of miles in rough-riding locomotives. It has protected my laptop very well.

Once in a great while somebody says "Ooh, you have an Alienware!?" but I think that for the most part, people don't really scrutinize other people's backpacks or theorize about the contents.

I like that the old backpack has room for my external wireless apparatus and antenna (I stay in hotels with weak wireless), my big power brick, full size keyboard, mouse and other items.

As soon as I post this reply I'm going to order the new backpack for my m15x, which FedEx should be delivering to me in the next few hours. :)

i like the new bag. the m15x barely fits in my north face hot shot bag. but this one does scream expensive laptop inside. however i think people are more inclined to steal expensive designer bags like Tumi first. i doubt i would buy this bag simply because its a security thing. if they took the alien off and charged 30 bucks less, i would buy it.

I can't afford one until I pay down my m15x debt some. But I will be getting one. Very cool. My dell dude backpack doesn't cut it. This and an extra battery and I'm set for college this year :)

The new bag is cool but, now i think about it, i wonder if they are going to release a new style brief-case that will accomodate the m17x... Hmmm!

Cheers for the links, there does seem to be some nice ones on NewEgg.

Ideally if anyone has one and can recommend one that would be great.
