yea, sounds like the game is the problem. Try searching google and see if you can find any workarounds, exiled.

Microsoft made Halo 2 a Vista-only game. After i bought the m15x i thought that since they made it Vista-only it would have some outstanding graphics. Boy, was i disappointed. Not knocking the game, though.

i installed the newest beta drivers and it didn't help the touch controls after coming out of sleep mode. They are still unresponsive...

Oh, forgot to mention one of my favorite FPS games - Serious Sam.

If you've never played it and you like FPS games, look for it on on Ebay or somewhere. Should be really cheap. It's an EXCELLENT FPS game from Europe that's funny.

There are 3 episodes so far:
Serious Sam - The First Encounter
Serious Sam - The Second Encounter
    Serious Sam 2

These drivers have nothing to do with the touch buttons.
Try enabling then disabling your bluetooth before going into sleep mode. This will work . Also, update your BIOS.

    @Linuxguy - I'll give Serious Sam a try, I love FPS's.

@dhoang417 - You can also get it from Alienware's game download site.

$19.95 for Serious Sam Gold Edition (the first 2 games).
    $29.95 for Serious Sam 2.

Well worth it in my opinion.

What are peoples idle temps with this new driver? Mine is up 5C from 69C to 74C. Can't say I'm happy about that. Haven't had the time to try any gaming yet.

i have the most up to date bios already. I found that the touch controls actually do work. I did disable blue tooth so maybe that was the solution but i didnt do it to solve the problem.

when you are idle i recommend enabling stealth mode. i get idle temps of around 53 - 55 when i am using stealth mode. if i use full clocks and idle i get around 70 also. those are normal temps.

Yea, if you leave it in stealth mode, the temps are cooler. It will prolong the life of your CPU and GPU.

@Freeman-Please make sure that your room temps are cool and the air is not "dead" stagnant. The air needs to be circulating. And don't cover the air vents on the bottoms and back of the m15x.

I always keep my machine on a flat desk, but the temp isn't very low and there is not adequate circulation of air, but there's not much more I can do about it then open a window, which I normally always do. I've been running stealth mode for the last hour and idle temps on the GPU start at 54C. Then they slowly rise to 64C before the fans kick in and the cycle repeats. It's actually pretty annoying since when the the temp is low and the fans are going slow this thing is dead quiet, which is awesome. I wish stealth mode would allow it to DC enough for the fans not to kick in at all.

I am using the Zalman ZM-NC2000 and that keeps me idling at around 50C. The fans on it are also very quite especially compared to the m15x standard fans.

It's normal for the fan to come on at 63C. The same thing happens on my m15x. Heat will always build up, it won't stay cool forvever.

I had exactly the same as you. I dont understand how is it possible these cycles happen. Not using CPU or GPU and still the temp gets really high and the fans have to come up at quite high speeds.

I want to get this cooler for my M15X. How well does it work? Do the fan vents on the m15x line up with the grill on the nc2000?

Is there a noticable difference to just having it on a wooden desk?

    Thanks,
    Schuby
