Exactly. Well, it seems I should have been more clear - ONLY install AW specific apps (Command Center, OSD) from your system's driver support page @ support.dell.com. That's pretty much a given.

I can see too much misunderstandings with those CC versions. I think now we should post not only A0x release number, but version number as well:

M11x Command Center, Last Updated: 02/24/2010
    v2.5.43.0, A01

M15x Command Center, Last Updated: 02/12/2010
    v2.5.44.0, A05

(it is still available and it worked for my M15x perfectly - I posted way how it worked on mine in the other thread)

M17xxR1 Command Center, Last Updated: 10/9/2009
    v2.0.10, A03

M17xR2 Command Center, Last Updated: 02/24/2010
    v2.0.14, A04

I would not recommend to install other versions than intended for specific laptop.

I assume it is because for the M17x-R1 they have to release two versions:
one for Vista and one for Win 7. therefore it requires additional tests.

it might take a little longer, though I hope it'll be ready by friday.

I dont see what you are trying to say.. My CC is from Vista, and after I upgraded to 7, it still worked (used option where all data is kept on the computer)

So what I gather is, if you have the M15x, stay with the A05 if it works fine for me.

huh, interesting, I was going to answer to your post but checked myself the A04 description for the R2 and it shows compatibility for win 7 and vista 64, but for the R2 you can only enter the win 7 drivers section, while for the R1 you can choose which drivers to download, if vista or win 7. I was referring to that, and I also said I was assuming :)
