Would Alienware Fans help me the decide which is better to buy? I don't mind the pricing. Just want to know which is value of the money to spend.
    Thank you.

Both are great. I am owner of the M15x. I was considering the M17x, but I wanted the core i7 and the 15" computer. 17" was too big and didn't come with core i7. Although the dual GPU is nice. Pick whatever suits your needs most. I am pretty sure that the 17 will be updated to core i7 maybe sometime Q1 2010. Both are fantastic machines and you will enjoy either one. I think the M15x is a great bang for your $$$. FYI...when it comes to bags to buy for these things...make sure the bag you do get is a bit bigger. So a 17" bag will fit a M15x. I went through 3 bags trying to get the proper comfortable and protected fit.

    Enjoy

My take is... for gaming there's really one option to get the best possible Gaming Laptop and that is the M17x, dual GPU is really a must for hardcore gaming.

Right now for video/gfx editing the M15x is a better choice due to the more advanced CPU but that may change soon.

That said, the M15x sounds like a great option because it's is more portable and gives you incredible performance.... it all depends what you are looking for, I wanted a desktop replacememnt and wanted to have the most powerful option available and the M17x is just that, but I don't really move it that much.

Well rumors are floating around that the current iteration of the M17x won't support the 5800 series. Whether that means that Dell just won't issue a bios update or there's more to it remains to be seen. You can bet the current M15x will support it since it's already running the PM55 chpset.

Lots of talk going around about the M17x getting a refresh, (which im wishing isnt true because I just ordered mine >_>) So you can either wait to see if any of those rumors are true and then buy the M17x :s

but for true hardcore gaming I'd suggest the M17x. I've never owned an m15x and my m17x isnt even here yet but judging from what the m17x has too offer it seems like a more serious rig. Not that the m15x is terrible. Its more portable of course.

I see it as, m17x for a mostly static gaming laptop, or a m15x as a more portable less gameing laptop. I have the m15x simply because I could only spend 1500$ xD but I would have gotten the m17x had I had enough money.

i would prefer a 17 inch laptop for gaming. 15' is just too small for me, I only use it for internet and other stuffs.

17" all the way. True it's heavy, but then you can have rippling biceps and a great gaming laptop!

If you go with SLI/Crossfire, get the M17x. If you don't plan to do so, get the M15x instead.
