Well, looks like I might be trading the m for the M, and I had a few questions, first this is the build I have picked out:

Well, those are the main points.

    My Questions:

    1. What Problems have people had with the M15x? Does the build quality suck like the m15x, or is this one going to last?
    2. Is it worth spending the extra $600 ($540 with student discount) for the 920 processor?
    3. How much bigger is the M compared to the m?
    4. How long of battery life can you squeeze out of the 6-cell?
    5. Does the 9-cell stick out the back of the laptop?
    6. Is it easy to replace hdd and memory, like it is for the m15x?

Sorry, I know it's a lot of questions, however, I don't want to make the same mistake and get another m15x.

BTW, I might be selling a smartbay battery, and smartbay hdd case soon, if anyone might be interested. :)

Just have had my M15x for one day and I find no problems with the build quality of it. Actually I am very impressed!! The larger battery sticks out about 1/2 inch further than the back legs on the laptop. Thus the back sits higher by that amount and gives the laptop a slight lean to the front.

    1. I suggest reading the M15x thread :) it'll answer most, if not all your questions. The build quality is very great by the way.

    2. I honestly have no idea. Having the 920 processor is unnecessary for me, thus I never really looked into it.

    3. You can look up the laptop dimensions online so you can guesstimate.

    4. I never have my M15x run in battery mode, so I don't know.

    5. The 9 cell battery gives a slight raise on the back.

    6. Super easy.

I had old m15x too. new M15x build quality is much better. just a little flex near arrow keys on keyboard. screen is completely awesome.new one is slightly more wider, it can't fit my old laptop bag that i use for old one. if u get 9 cell battery it will bulge out on the bottom only not the back, making it alittle over 2in thick. i have the 9 cell battery i think it is pretty good for cooling also. i haven't had the chance to use it on battery power yet, but i heard 2 hours plus. 920xm is up to you really, depends on what you use it for, if just gaming 720 is fine. hdd and memory is super easy to get to, i did ssd swap under 5 min. I suggest you get 3-4 yr warranty this time, if your planning on keeping it for a long time. hope this helps

I have no keyboard flex issue; however, the right side of my space bar button is slightly raised compared to the left side. ( uneven )

Yes, I could of spent hours searching for questions like mine that have been answered already, instead I choose to ask my own questions because I know how much people like answering the same questions over and over again about their laptops. That's why we're here. :)

Also thanks for the replies, I think if I get this refund going I will get the M, Although I like the looks of the m a lot more, and the smartbay can't be beat, I just don't think I can find a nicer looking computer out there.

Also I was noticing that both the hdd and memory would be cheaper to upgrade from dellienware instead of newegg. Has anyone upgraded themselves, and know of a better deal?

BTW, Student discount FTW, 10%, better than AWs old 5%.

And yes, this time I will definatly get the extended warranty.

One more big question... does the M have an hdmi port? I can't find any good pics, and a review site didn't list it.

no it doesnt, but new orders are said to come with a Display Port to HDMI adaptor, so you should be fine.

Still, Loss of quality downgrading from HDMI, that actually really surprises me.

Another thing, correct me if I am wrong, but it looks like from the manual that there is only 2 USB ports?

hmm, so far, the M seems like a downgrade in features, like they are trying to add more performance, but their taking away options and reverting back in time.
