    Hello guys,

    I just got my new M17x a few days back and I just love it. Dont have any major problems with it as of now but I just need to know a few things...

    1) regarding drivers for Win 7, Do I install drivers only from the dell website or can I use drivers from the nVidia website as well? After a clean install of Win 7, I installed all the updated drivers from the dell website before and today I upgraded the chipset and graphics drivers with the latest ones from nVidia website, 15.49 for the chipset and 195.62 for the GTX280s and there doesn't seem to be any issue with them as of now. Anyone know of any better drivers?

    2) I have been having problems with HDMI output. I wanna connect my M17x to my LCD TV for some big screen gaming, but I find that if I output the display only to my LCD TV, the desktop screen looks fine but whenever I start any game, the screen flickers a lot. But if I run the display on both my LCD TV and the Alienware display as well, then the flicker is gone. Anybody experiencing the same issues? I want to keep my M17x lid shut while gaming on the LCD screen, but if I shut the lid, the display only outputs to the TV and the flicker starts again.

    Would be glad for some help....Thanks

    Can't help you on item 2 as I have no issue outputting and gaming to my HDTV with LCD turned off. Granted I'm still using the 186.64 drivers so there may be driver specific issues you're encountering.

    As for the 1st item, just be aware that others are having downclocking issues with the 195.62 drivers (i.e. the 2nd card isn't downclocking correctly when leaving games and remains at full speed).

    Most are fine with the stock Dell 186.64 drivers and others are liking the 186.82. You can create new game profiles or use nhancer for new games.
