Was just browsing nvidia.com as I do everyday when I start work to see if they finally released a new driver as the old one didnt work and noticed today 186.03 were released.
Thought I should let the community know.
Downloading as we speak and will test them out on my m15x soon.
Hope these work![]()

All systems go!
Installation went fine, all works fine after, no problems
Will game a bit when I get home from work. -
what gpu you got in your m15x??
-
Sorry for off topic, but I install 185.85 and it gives me code 43, I wonder if anyone got that too for 186.03?
-
The 186.03 driver works, but its multi-monitor support is not as good as the 179.48. It doesn't allow you to extend the desktop from a primary external monitor left into the laptop's screen. You can set it that way manually, but it will revert the next time you reboot.

My m15x has the 8800M GTX and works fine with this driver.
-
Yeaaa, It works, Thanks for the heads up.
I will try to get some benchmarks in. -
benchies benchies benchies benchies.
-
what about with a 8700m gt? I'll try it tonight here's hoping it works...still running 179.48 right now cause the last couple didn't work

Sigh.. I'm gonna give it a try on m15x with FX 3600M GPU
-
I used this on Windows 7 64-bit. and got a BSOD :/
-
Great
! It works on my Alienware ( see specs in signature below ).
I got a higher 3dmark06 points of 8530 instead of 8410 pts w/ Dox 185.20Attached Files:

These work fine (mostly) for me on the 64-bit Windows 7 RC with an 8800M GTX. The only problem I have is that the GPU won't downclock when idle; it runs fullspeed all the time.
Anyone else have this issue? -
seems to be working I forgot to benchmark before installing so not sure if it makes a difference or not and am not sure if it has made a difference.
-
this version doesn't auto-downclock on desktop, at least it downclocks in stealth mode.
maybe the DOX customized version (if released) will re-enable the auto-downclock... -
I think I'll probably stick to 179.48 drivers, since it looks like there aren't really any benefits to this new driver.

-
It does, however, allow an overclock. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=388968

I thought it seemed like things lagged a bit in warhammer and my fans are on more-cpu idles at like 50% of vista throttle gadget. Think I will downgrade to something else what is the newest working driver for an 8700mgt equiped m15x?

If you want powermizer to work you have to change the registry.
find \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\{**a series of numbers that are different**}\0000\PerfLevelSrc in regedit and change the value from 2222 to 3333.
Restart and you will now have powermizer enabled.
I did the reverse of this, just stop after step 3.

the easier way to activate PowerMizer is to use this handy tool (PowerMizer Switch)
