So I just bought a blu ray drive for my M17 and it should be here in hopefully a week. Something has been brought to my attention though, and that is will the software that came with my M17 which is Powerdvd 8 work with the new drive? or will I have to install new software?

I thought the new drives would be sort of like plug n play, where I could install it without any need to install drivers for it (let vista automatically do it if it needs some).

    Anyway, thank you.

The BR version of Power DVD should be on your support CD.

Once you've installed the BR drive, the CD will allow you to install the software.

It should, if not, just uninstall it and reinstall after the new drive is in.
