I just wanted to take the opportunity to introduce myself; I’m new to NBR but not new to computers. I’ve been an NBR lurker for about 2 months and have used the knowledge to help me purchase a alienware M17 laptop. im in stage 2 of the process and imagine it will be until the day it ships, seeing that i paid in full upon purchase. By trade im a teacher for the U.S. Army For I.T. and have extensive knowledge in hardware and software. In closing i hope i have the opportunity to help someone as this forum had helped me.

Welcome to NBR. =) Curiously, why would you order an m17 when the "Allpowerful" is 11 days away? :p

    Hey "Dude" welcome!

Although I would have waited a few days, I think you'll be quite happy with your M17. It's a powerful and reliable rig.

There is always something better right around the corner.

    Reason#1
Need a new laptop by june 10th for school
    Reason#2
Ill wait untill the inital price goes down and buy the same thing cheeper, i dont need to be the first guy on the block with the 2nd breed.
Reason#3 why not buy both......if my wife lets me :D
Reason#4 If zombies were to attack I need the weight that the M-17 has to crack the skulls of the would be attackers.

Edit: BTW i went to stage 3 today!

    No Man,
It's a solid choice and I'm sure you're gonna love it.

As you can see in my sig, the M17 is my primary rig and I'm very pleased I bought it.

It kicks butt at everything I throw at it and doesn't even flinch!

I don't doubt the power of the m17, but when "right around the corner" is 11 days, as opposed to 1 year, I'd reconsider what laptop I'd be buying. =p

However, I wish you luck with your m17 because I was going to be ordering one a few weeks back, until the rumours started flying about a new laptop.
