    Hello,

i just recieved my Alienware M17x R2 yesterday.
Now i have completed installing all drivers etc. but there is one problem:

if i plug my 30" Samsung (via HDMI) in the notebook i can only select a maximum resolution of 1280x800. I#ve tried dell drivers and the ati drivers. no difference.

    1920x1080 should be possible ?!

Thank you all for your help.

the display supports resolutions up to 2560x1600.

i tried to connect to my TV via HDMI and it worked. So i assume the problem is the samsung monitor, which does not "accep" the modulated hdmi signal?

    how is this possible?

    this makes me sad.

I had to essentially build my own monitor driver to get my M15x to work with my monitor @ 1920x1080 60hz (monitor is capable of 75hz but havent figured out how to get it that high yet).
