    1) Intel® Core™2 Duo P8700 2.53GHz (3MB Cache, 1066MHz FSB)

    or
    2) Intel® Core™2 Duo T9600 2.8GHz (6MB Cache, 1066MHz FSB)

    or MAYBE even

    3) Intel® Core™2 Quad Q9000 2.0GHz (6MB Cache, 1066MHz FSB)

I do casual gaming, nothing too demanding like crisis but i do like some hardcore games... really not sure wut to do here... please forgive my spelling btw im doing this quickly lol

I'm getting a T9600 in mine. I think it would be the best choice for you.

1 seems like the best bang for buck, plus its not even bottlenecked with that processor. Even if it is, you could always overclock a little bit. Go with 3 if you want it to be a little future-resistant. Im getting 3 but I will be getting a qx9300 from hp soon before they stop giving out that great deal. You could always buy it from ebay/3rd party. Just watch out for scams and do some research on engineer samples and different types of stepping.

I got #1 as a system replacement (see sig). I realized after the order was placed (since Dell never bothered to verify with me) that the processor was not a match for my other one.

2 weeks later, I'm still waiting on processor #2. They're actually building me a whole nother M17x with otherwise identical specs because their system is unable to dispatch a superior part. Go figure.

Anyhoo, I must say that in processor-intensive games, #1 doesn't work nearly as well as my older processor which had a 6mb l2 cache. I'd say go for #2 at the very least.

I third the #2 proc. The extra cache can and does boost performance over a 3MB cache....

The T9600 is a really well performing processor that easely overclocks. It the best bang for your buck @ the moment.
