    No Student or DPA discounts from Dell?

    Spoke to a Dell sales rep today and asked him about the discounts, student and DPA and he told me these are not offered...

    I spoke to two other reps, and they said the same thing, like they were playing dumb about student discount and Dell preferred account discount. All they said was that the only discount they have is EPP at 7%, which doesn't help me because I don't qualify for that.

    Can anyone who has bought a laptop from Dell in Canada confirm that they do not offer student discounts or DPA discounts? because this smells like bulls**t to me, and it's got me pretty pissed off considering I'm already paying a hefty premium for not being American, on top of the hefty taxes I'm paying as a Canadian.

    Thanks but I've tried that, found nothing for Dell Canada, and I doubt those will work here.

    From what I can see...dells student discounts are only offered in the states. But i do remember Alienware offering a student discount of 5%

    Well this is pretty lame, so not only do Canadians not get any coupons, but we don't get any decent discounts except for EPP which the large majority of people wont even qualify for, and, I cant order through Alienware because it just takes me to the Dell site, this is pretty frustrating.

    The Dell sales reps said they can't honor the Alienware student discount. I expected it but I had to try, it's just way too expensive here.

    hmmm...curious, does anyone know of a place near the Ontario boarder (states side) that I could ship to and have them hold onto my Item and pick it up myself?

    Yeah I would like to know of a place like that near Vermont, I'm getting pretty desperate, might have to order one from the US to a place in Vermont or something if I can find a place to ship it to, even with duties it will be like 400 dollars cheaper than I will pay here and also come with a better configuration.
