Yeah I hope so

Haha, it doesn't quite have the right 'ring' to it either! ^^
But yeah, maybe next time! -

I don't play games on my m15x since I got a desktop, all I use it for is school, so I would of easily bought a 12 inch.
-
I would settle for a m13x which was what I was hoping for but not surprised they didn't bring out. Just something that is easy to take to class with some style and decent power for moderate gaming and video streaming

M13x would bring in a lot of money. A powerful laptop for school? Now the kids at college can decently run all their Microsoft Office programs as well as WoW.
P.S. lilyang you win the award for avatar of the month. -
I would've loved an AW netbook too!

anything this size could not be powerful....the best you could hope for is an integrated GPU which means a Core 2 architecture as well
The GPU is limited by thermals which is non negotiable and dictates that at best you get either and Intel GM45 or Nvidia 9400/730i chipset. There is no integrated gpu for the i7 chipsets yet and nvidia is not allowed to make chipsets for any Intel chip that uses an integrated memory controller, including i7 - or any nehalem, at least as of now.
So unless you REALLY just like the looks, would it really be worth it?
Look at the new 11" EEE pc from asus if you need a sturdy yet small notebook. Because as of now it is your best bet. -
I would buy an AW netbook with my eyes closed. It can't possibly be of worse performance than my current netbook, and this one suits me just fine.
Maybe next time indeed. -
Actually scook9 it could be possible to fit HybridSLI into something as small as a 10 inch netbook. Asus has proved with the Asus N10 that they can fit a 9300M into it. That could easily be paired with a 9400M in HybridSLI. Yes, you'd need Core 2, however I reckon they could fit a decent Core 2 processor into it, possibly the same ones that the Macbook Air uses looking at the depravity of cooling on it.
-
Obviously those of us looking for a m13x are not expecting an "All Powerful" per say but just something stylish with some decent capability, if there was something like the xps 1340 from AW I would get it in a heart beat provided it gets more life than 2-3 hours like the 1340 -

IMO a 13" laptop with the same visual design of the M15x and M17x would be excellent. As for specs, I'd expect it to trump all current netbooks, but not full laptops and desktop replacements.
A 4-6 hours battery life would of course be critical. -
If they came with a 13 though I do like the m15/17x design but it would need to be something slimmer and I am sure it would be in another league from netbooks
-
I reckon Alienware could actually manage to squeeze a 9600M into a 13-inch notebook, quite possibly. I guess the main problem though would be physical space, rather than cooling.

I would of liked to have gotten an M12x to accompany me when I travel....Now I will hafta find an alienware-style netbook somewhere else - if there are any....

M11x (11.6" is killing off 12.1"). Announced at CES(Jan) or more likely CeBit(March).

a netbook with AlienFX
-
steveninspokane John 14:6 - Only ONE Way!
Also, I really don't care about the gpu or cp in a netbook, I mean, it's a netbook ya know, what do you expect? haha
I would only get an AW netbook because than I would have one that hardly anyone else had, I like to be different, not to mention the flashy lights. -

That's not what I expected.

Alienware tried the small notebook market years ago with the Sentia line; they had 12-14" screens. They were a failure. Alienware is the high performance branch of Dell now and somehow I doubt they would compete with themselves by offering an Alienware thin-and-light or ultraportable; that's what Dell's consumer Inspiron/Studio/Studio XPS lines are for.
FYI - I have contacts all the way up in Alienware and Dell and have heard zilch about another notebook. I couldn't say anything if I had, but I haven't. -
Yeah got excited when I clicked the link, that was cruel. Lol

lol! Classic Phin.

Still, They did have a survey out a few months ago, so it is still a thought in their minds.

So the title says rumor now, I think that may be misleading

I sure wouldn't use it for gaming....I just want a netbook with matching style and AlienFX to go with my M17x....
-
You guys make it sound like your talking about handbags and "accessorizing" your M17x's. LOL
Sound like my mom -
