    No more phone sales for Canada?

    I just called in to order a spare VGA cable for my new screen I plan on ordering and i was informed that Dell no longer does phone sales for Canada :( it is all online, or live chat.

    It's probably temporary.

    EDIT: If it isn't temporary, this may be the beginning of the end of those outsourced call centers for Dell, now that Michael Dell is in control once again. We can only hope!

    Sweden has had like that for quite a while now. It is actually quite uncommon here for any company to have phone sales.

    You can call Dell, but whenever you choose to goto sales department you just get a message stating that we should head over to the website and chat with a customer rep there instead.

    Hope for your sake that it is only temporary.

    More then likely it has been shut down as of the first of the year! Cut backs got to love them.

    Didn't know about that change, I'll see if I can get any info on that. Live chat is pretty much the same and you can even cover your back when you say that the rep could have mislead you in any way.

    True... it is very nice having a chat log in case there is any question about what was said during the chat. This protects the employee against dishonest customers (or those that hear what they want and don't pay attention) and it protects customers from employees that accidentally give out inaccurate information.

    Nah it's probably because Ppl cheat them on the phone sales like I did when I got my laptop but I didn't think it would work and never planed on doing when I called just kinda happened so it saved me $900 :) anyways I was picking out all the parts online tillin him what I wanted then he asked if I was on the site and asked the price so it was $3600 an I told him it was $2900 and he sold it to me for $2700 but then I got disconnect and I was kicking my for it but he called me right back hahaha
