The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

Some of you may have seen that we've just been given the bad news that this whole forum will be shut down from January 31st.
For Alienware fans, there is still the dedicated Alienowners.com forum which is where I was introduced to all things Alienware back in 2011. I am a mod over there these days so I'd love it if we could keep all the great people and knowledge from this site and bring you over there so we can keep helping people with their new, old and legacy systems.

Thanks for sharing. I like the visual side but the forum is fairly lightly active so I hope this will help you gain some new users. I guess that's the downside of having a AW-specific site competing with Alienware Arena etc. On top of that, the brand appears to be well past its heyday. One of the appeals of NBR was the much broader scope, and yet not too broad as to attract random posters (in the limit of that we have reddit)....

I've never liked Alienware Arena, the site has always seemed really clunky and it got worse when they did the update a little while back. It looks flashy but lacks depth, in my opinion.

Nothing can compete with what we had here so I hope someone can work something out. Reddit can't compete with an open forum like this. Discord isn't too bad and we have a growing community on the Alien Resurrection server but that one is more for the Legacy Alienware systems and old hardware.

The next few months will be interesting to see what rises from the ashes.
