    When I said I wanna return my M17x :(

Normally you don't have to pay that fee right

Any idea on how I can run away from that fee would be great.

    Thank you

Nope - that is a standard policy after the return period has expired. Read the terms of sale concerning returns.

Its up to you to escalate it with CS/Tech Support if you want to dispute it. Some have had luck doing so, others have not.

As a reminder to all (anticipating responses to the OP's post), please do not post any fradulent related thoughts/ideas/tactics. This is not permitted on NBR.

Best of luck with the escalation silly...

Yup! It's still within 21 days periods.

I have CC and the reason I wanna return it is I'm having a better deal right now :(

Then you should have no issue. Follow this:

If they give you any trouble, ask to speak with a supervisor. If still not getting anywhere, use:

Surely you can find something wrong with it to get around the return fee.

For example, the touchpad is not quick enough?

Is the command center touch capacitive strip is not responsive enough for you?

Are there still issues for those with a 5870 crossfire setup that you could mention? Since I have a single 5870 I wouldn't know for certain if that was fixed.

Yeah I just did not want to play hard ball with them so I was trying to be nice and stuff. Then I had to play the other way around and now I have shipping label.

I was very happy with my system but there was a deal on Marketplace that I could not pass. I feel quite guilty on returning mine honestly but still :D

Now I'm awaiting for my new killer system as in my sig :)

Special thank to BatBoy. You helped a lot!

Yeah. Instead of getting the Dell SSDs, why not get an OCZ vertex? They're much faster.

The problem is this one is from the Marketplace, not Dell.com so I don't have choice of configuration :D

Oh, I see. I think those are plenty good. I think you will need some kind of TRIM software for raid.

I need to dig into SSD softwares since I know next to nothing about it. But I will remove the raid anyway. I believe it's pointless to keep SSD in raid 0.

As an ex-Dell employee, I feel the need to state that this is terrible advice. Unless you actually have a lawyer & plan to use your lawyer, never, never, NEVER mention anything involving legal action. Quote their policy back to them all you want, but don't mention taking legal action against them unless you plan to do it.

The reason I state this is because if you mention anything about legal action to a Dell technician or customer service rep that follows all rules 100%, they are supposed to flag your account as "legal action requested", give you the contact information for Dell's legal team & end the call.

He is 100% correct. Well he's a former employee so... yeah.
But in the Warranty thread many many posts back. Myself and a couple of others were being told things by reps that weren't exactly true/legal and we figured this out. As mad as we got, each of us a separate issue, we were advised to never mention legal counsel unless planning on obtaining it. True those few of us probably could have gone that route but we remained courteous, polite and firm and once we were in contact with customer resolution all issues were eventually worked out and those statements were retracted and apologized for.
Dell reps do play hardball sometimes. It all depends on who you get, luck of the draw. Sometimes you do have to quote them their policy or a law they are skirting and you certainly don't need a lawyer to read up on consumer laws and be informed.
I like to think of it this way... We all have bad days, reps are no different. They receive a multitude of calls from people simply trying to get freebies. When a legitimate customer calls after a day like that, they can get treated badly. It isn't right or justified but it still happens. Hang up, call back and you will get a new person to talk to. If you worry about the case notes... and know what it's like to hang on a line for tech support.. you can state the call was dropped unexpectedly.
Honey - I am glad you got your issue resolved. You were well within your rights to ask for the refund since it was within the return period. Congrats on the new system it looks 'beastly' :p
