In the bios it says hybrid graphics [disabled] and integrated [enabled]. Is it suppose to be like that. When i put hybrid graphics on my computer cant log onto windows. I have already tried installing the latest drivers

You are using the first option - see below.
Here are your possible options for Hybrid Graphics and Integrated Graphics:
---------------------------------------------
Hybrid Graphics - Disabled / Integrated Graphics - Enabled:
M17x will use the integrated video card only. Video output to external displays will be disabled. Discrete GPUs will be disabled.
Hybrid Graphics - Disabled / Integrated Graphics - Disabled:
M17x will use the discrete video card(s) only. Regular SLI mode will be available for systems with 2 NVIDIA discrete video cards.
Hybrid Graphics - Enabled / Integrated Graphics - Enabled:
Hybrid SLI will be enabled. Both the discrete GPUs and the 9400M G will be active.
---------------------------------------------

when disabling both, my resolution is like real small and the icon isnt there

When disabling both, the icon will not be there. The icon is for HybridSLI. You are in effect, disabling HybridSLI.
You can change your resolution via the NV Control Panel. You can also increase your font size and icon size. The attached shot are my settings for DPI.Attached Files:
