would it be possible at all do any of you think to put either the gtx 260m or gtx 280m into an M15X? like just fit it in, not talking heat or anything else, just fit it in and use it.

Here's some info on the GTX 280M, which is basically a desktop 9800GTX+ core:
    http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=14480

A note about the GTX 200 series: Nvidia hasn't done anything significant with their architecture for a long time, we're basically using re-hashed GeForce 8-series architecture from 2006 that has been slightly tweaked and die-shrunk since then. The 9-series was almost a complete rebrand of the 8-series.

Nvidia has reached the end of the line with its current architecture; an excerpt from the article I linked above:

Both cards will fit, but the 280M will burn a hole in it.

The Clevo M860TU/Sager NP8660 will soon have the 260M as an upgrade option, so that's what the M15x would be looking at. Both cards are slated for early April.

ok, would the 260m be worth the upgrade, not immedietly, but by the end of the year? do you think that future card will also work in my m15x?

if AW ads the BIOS support for it, then probably.

Clevo had to make a BIOS update for their M860TU for the support of the GTX 260M.

    .....

If the m15x can't even handle a 9800M GTX, it will explode if it uses a 260M/280M. Common sense prevails over wishful thinking.

Common sense also dictates that a 55nm core generates less heat than a 65nm core. So no, it won't explode and it may be possible to see either card in the M15x (probably the GTX 260M more likely seeing as it's being offered as a pre-order with the Clevo M86xTU chassis).

not i....but as Moo said, some people will argue about it...others may not.
it is simply one aspect of the card that will not be present as compared to the ATI....
take it for what you will.... :D

Then why downplay a card for not having 10.1?

I'm not trying to argue or anything, but....
