Starting with a pending December update to GeForce Experience, NVIDIA will be changing the way they will distribute their driver updates. Nvidia currently posts new drivers on a regular basis to their website while also simultaneously pushing them out via GeForce Experience. Come December starting pending that update, this format will changing. GeForce Experience will be the preferred “first access” distribution mechanism for NVIDIA’s frequent driver updates. That means Nvidia will shove GeForce Experience down your throat whether you like it or not. So in short - you’ll be able to install Game Ready drivers only via GeForce Experience — and even then only after you’ve registered a verified email address with Nvidia. The drivers you can grab on GeForce.com or via Windows Update will also be limited to quarterly releases for bug fixes, new features, security updates and so on. Aside from perhaps a hotfix here and there.

There you have it guys, in an increasing complicated PC market where you should serve the end-users, and not annoy them I feel Nvidia made a huge mistake here.

There can be very hard to solve problems with modding INF files now as we all need modded files and installer won't let us download driver standalone.

I posted this in another thread. This is really bad news... not happy to see this kind of foolishness coming from NVIDIA. This is the kind of idiotic process I would expect from a pathetic namby-pamby outfit like Micro$loth.

Wow... quite the bombshell dropped with that Guru3D article. It certainly seems NVIDIA gets more retarded with every day that passes. As much as I hate AMD's MXM garbage, it might be time to tell the Jolly Green Giant to drop dead. There's a limit to the amount of stupid I can tolerate. Since my 780M SLI went from awesome to sucks due to their driver engineering incompetence, might as well downgrade to something that doesn't throttle unless I use 8 month old drivers. I wish GCN MXM cards overclocked better and did not have such a ridiculously high failure rate.

I'd like to shove my throttling 780M SLI into one of NVIDIA's orifices, but I had something in mind other than their throat. Can't believe they haven't fixed it yet, and I do not buy the story that they have no idea why it's happening and cannot reproduce it. If their driver engineers honestly do not have any idea, then we all need to be very scared about the height and depth of their incompetence.

wait, so, we're going to have our computers broken by force, through these forced drivers ?
How many times has a new driver only screwed up an entire system, made it unstable, and caused irreversible damage, now its mandatory !

Please consumers, bendover and take it up the A-hole because that is how we do business, am I right ? Nuff siad ! Stupid A-holes nVIDA FTW !
