Yup those are it. Did a run at native resolution (1600x900) and got this:



The OC was 690/1700/1000. Not quite 1:2.5 for the core/shader ratio.

 

The forum has a search tool and it's not difficult to use. That particular question is asked nearly everyday. If you are so inclined to answer it, then do so.

I searched at least 5 times with different queries, and only found results relating to the G51J, which I am not interested in. In addition, I browse both this and the Asus forum often and have seen no such question asked. Especially here, where the vast majority of discussion is about the M17x.

In Joker's defense it's just common sense to read through some threads before asking questions. I mean I try to use the search function but I NEVER get ANY results. It is more work for the asker, but meh, you might learn some other information while on your quest for the truth.

i7 1.6 ghz 4 GB DDR 3 1600 x 900 screen. GTX 260, 320gb HD, 6 cell battery and all the usual bells and whistles ship to california (9.75) tax after 200 off and cash back is 1440 buck, pretty cheap....thinking to pull the trigger or not.


but that means returning my Asus G60 VX so far besides the so so P7450 cpu and 1366 x 768 LED, it runs cool, silent and no wireless problem..........I want Alienware but a bit hesitant

Estimate build date is 12/14 wonder if that is realistic or how much sooner do they have it built.

How is 1600 x 900 vs 1920 x 1080? I'm thinking 1600 x 900 because GTX 260's 112 stream processor might be less taxing with 1600 x 900 and it should look fine for such a small LED>.

I believe you can use bing cb for up to 2500 dollars for personal use. I might order through the american site and get it shipped to my ex who lives in the states. She lives in LA so that is quite a drive but right now I bumped up my spec to the 820 and I'm still saving 500 dollars... not even including the 200 upgrade option.

urgh wish i lived in the states... such a good bargain. makes me feel cheated as on the dell us site theres the instant 200 dollar off option and on the canadian site all there is is "dont pay for 6 months".

 

Not sure how that goes, Bing had some problem with Newegg earlier but they got it fixed. I'm just making a leap of faith here. I have always gotten my bing cashback without a problem and I have enough amount left to hack a 20% off this Alienware. Truth be told, only time will tell how this bing cashback works. I'm sure Microsoft is not the only one forking out the cash her, Dell must have shared some load.

I went to bing.com and typed in alienware and made sure it took me straight to dell home page rather than a page that lets u decide to pick dell home or dell business. It will take a while for the cashback to show up, which most likely will surpass the 21 days returnable period. So if you really depend on this cashback to make your ends meet, don't try it. I'm just braver or dumber......or both. I shall post back here as soon as my Bing cashback is confirmed or not.

I went ahead and re-ordered my system with an SSD and it ended up being cheaper. I'm going to call Dell in the morning and find out of the Bing CB works with AW systems. If it doesn't then I'll just cancel the new order. I have my doubts though because if you look at the screen shot I posted, it specifically states on Dell's website that the bing CB is fro select systems. I think the AW link on Bing's page will likely not be honored. Let's hope it is though.

P.S. 900P is PERFECT for the 15.6" size of this notebook.

 

My apology. Well, I was really trying to help. Based on my experience, I found it became so much smoother after I increased the tracking speed. Not sure what's your hassle. By the way, may be I am the idiot.

My problem with the touchpad was that it was like the pointer had a really low framerate. It felt slow and sluggish.

In ubuntu the pointer moves extremely smooth, just like an external mouse.

I now tried uninstalling synaptics driver, which 5150Joker said did the trick for him. This definitely made it much it better! Though is still doesn't feel as smooth as in ubuntu (in ubuntu the pointer also wobbles when holding the finger still on the touchpad).

 

Hey guys if any of you are having a hard time getting to dell customer care. I called three times and waiting and got disconnected. What i did was called dell financial services and told them i need to change payment method which they can't do and would transfer you to customer care and you get connected right away with no waiting.
