i love your examples. 9 days in purgatory now.

@ap2tl =The one in the pic is an older revision so not sure if the size is still the same. If you like references to gaming consoles so much, here another one, the base is as thick as a PSP1000.

I like how sturdy the build is.
I should have gotten Lunar Shadow as the smudges are killing me.
Small gripe for such a great little beast of a machine.
-
heres a pic to show u how much off your xbox/pc game would be
-
damn dude.. the lunar shadow looks sweet. i was gonna get that case, but i have hella Lats laying around in the same color.
u could have said it's wide as 4 and a half one piece cards -
@exiled = Lol @ the One Piece card. WATASHIWA KAMIDA!
Anyone want the comparison pic to the PSP 1k? Lol.

@Jojos
Dang jojo's... it was said a whiles back that you don't direct quote people but you type in an @username and direct a comment at them. Need to cool it on the quotes.
As for homebrewers m11x, you can't really adjust your clocks manually with the cpu. It's either on or off as per the bios option. Set numbers, no adjust-ability yet. I think his machine was just bunk.
Edit: Batboy comes in like a ninja and steals my kill. -
Here are some unboxing pics and comparison to my Macbook Pro and X301

Here's a few more, notice that they messed up on the hinge cover. The cap and wifi LEDs do not shine through, however a Dell service guy came and replaced the hinge next business day.
Anyhow, after owning the system for a week, I'd say its very well built. There's almost no keyboard flex and the palm rest is very thick and solid. I do have a few complaints about the default setting of the G45M graphics but turning down contrast and brightness helped the washed out colors. However, with the GT 335M, everything looks great. Just to note, in order for me to use the HDMI output, I have to be in discrete graphics mode, hopefully with drivers (which there aren't any online) that will change because I don't always need the discrete graphics to connect to my HDTV.
For those who got their m11x, there is two finger scrolling, 3 finger flick and application launch as well as pinch zooming... http://www.synaptics.com/support/drivers download the driver from there, it'll say that there is currently a newer version installed, so uninstall it then reinstall with the one from the synaptics site after restarting. Then restart the computer and configure your settings for multi-touch :-D
Aesthetically, the laptop is very nice to look at, curves and sharp styling reminds me of the Lamborghini Reventon. Anyhow, the laptop is very snappy and the graphics are very good for most games (I've only tried CS Source). For CS-S, I can run at all full settings and still get over 70FPS on the LCD. I can get around 60FPS on high on an external 24" (1920x1200).
Battery life is very good, I get over 6 hrs on integrated graphics with browsing and brightness to med. Fairly quiet fan, but audible. Excellent value for what I paid for the system

I am stoked it supports multi touch, the transition from macbook to M11X has been made that little bit smoother.

Thank you so much coolchu. I've been waiting forever to for someone to compare it's size with the macbook. Do you think you can show a bit more in terms of putting them on top of each other, and side by side closed and open? Thanks!

Had a chance to sit down with it for a couple hours on the weekend and play some mass effect 2 and all I can say is it handles it beautifully!
I will try and post a video of what settings I have it set at and some gameplay. -

------ picture like that lol. side view of them opened.
But even without a picture, since you have both, when you handle the m11x does it feel really bulky compared to the macbook because of it's thickness and sharper edges. -
Just got mine a couple of days ago, so happy. it's such an impressive laptop.
I have my Intel X25 G2 160GB SSD installed, this thing is FAST. I'm able to play Batman and MW2 pretty much maxed out.
CPU is OK, but probably the only thing I would have changed. i5 would have definitely done this machine more justice. but we are early adopters and this seems to be the first step of Alienware building the best laptop available anywhere.
BTW my work mate have a sony Z, and although it is a great machine I wouldn't switch with him for anything. even if the price was the same.
Well done Alienware, you've made my year. -
feel the same way NIRR im very happy with mine got it on friday i agree about cpu im sure next 1 will b core i3 or i5 guess we"ll have 2 get that 1 also lol im playin batman 2 it looks awesome

Surprisingly, I have not receive the bluetooth as a standard option here in Canada, but after talking to the technical support team they are sending me one

Guys, what about advertise from dell, that m11x will work for 8 hours, how can i achieve this?
-
And what's the purpose of this option?
Even in passive mode cooler is working. Or it means that if there will be no load, he will stop it, and if cooling is in active mode it will be working even if its temperature is zero?
-
From what I can tell, to get around 8 hours you will need the following:
Overclocked CPU 1.6/1.73ghz
Integrated graphics
Brightness at 2 bars
Wifi
No bluetooth
Using just word and internet browsing [no video streaming] lightly -
