    Just thought we could get some order status' going here.

    Ordered 6/2/09
    Mine is officially in Production w/ an ESD 7/2/09.

    To get detailed info on the progress of your order (Kitting, Build, Testing, Boxing, etc). follow these steps:

    BACKDOOR to the old order status!

    1)Call 800-283-2210 = this is the DPA phone number so don't get worried

    2)Follow prompt #3

    3)Now, select business/epp selection #2

    4)Track order option #1

    5)Then do it again - track order option #1

    Anyone know if the status tracker on the site was /is updating in real time with their order? I remember 2 years ago when I bought an Inspiron laptop from Dell, it stayed on “in production” for about 3 days after I received the order.

    Just got off the phone with the dell relashonship manager I have been dealing with. (He actually called me) Basically told me that it could be up to another week before my system even goes into production (due to the ATI cards) He asked me if I wanted to cancel the order and go with the 280 SLI option. Told him id call him back in roughly 24hrs to let him know one way or the other.

    Just stick with the original plan of the ATI cards... The wait will be worth it honestly..

    If you went with the 280s then saw the amazing stuff the ATI cards were doing you may regret switching and sure you could return it and start over, but then there would be all that waiting again ...

    LOL very true Quad, I guess im just a little frustrated (like some others here) for having to wait quite a bit of extra time for the system to even get to production let alone boxing.

    Best thing to do to help pass the time is not spend so much time on these boards and find something else to do with your days :). Its easier said then done as i have waited on many machines in my days but if you can find another hobby in the meantime it will help :)..

    ps .. you know, it took me once 2 months to get my Gateway P-171 XFX when it was first released. Order was placed in January, and I didn't get it until the mid of March !! ))

    ^ no , still the same, but I got a weird one here , on one of the screens it says "in pre-production" but once you click on that tag it drops you to another screen which shows this indication: "in production"

    ?!?

    wish i was able to call and get some order status like that, all i can do is call the promo hotline, seems like its been abit too long since my system isnt going to have the new ati cards and yet its been over a month since i sent in my information for them to order me that laptop.

    Looks like my order is finally on it's way. Ordered 18/9 (9/18) eta was 9/10 (10/9) on 7/10 (10/7) finally finished production then they bump my eta to 16/10 (10/16). Called my rep to see if they could expediate deliver. Still waiting to hear.

    Yeah, I feel bad for you guys, although I wish I could have afforded the gddr5 sweetness. This is a replacement for a dead rig, so I am without a computer at home right now. It's like torture. I've started to read books and go to bed on time. I can't live like this anymore.

    So people will likely have to wait for longer than the scheduled delivery date? Omg! Me neither do not have any computer since the sold of MacBook Pro for this one. I will manage to survive to Nov 03rd but I don't know if I can wait for any longer. I want my M17x... right now. I want to see its LED glowing in the dark. I want to feel its aluminum chassis. I want to see how powerful it is on Crysis Warhead... Brand new Orion backpack and Logitech G51 are already here waiting for the M17x to come. This is my first Alienware and I just can't wait :(

    My laptop just got here! I love it its so awesome! Just one thing, when I touch the button for stealth mode it says that the laptop is in low power mode. What is it and how can I turn it off?

    Heh Heh. Well I was going to get the SLI too but games I'll be playing should run fine with a single 260 GTX right now. I mostly
    play sports games. So I thought I might upgrade the GPU's sometime down the line when I need it...

    How well do they run?

    I was debating whether to get this or a crazy desktop ( for 1.5k you can get a desktop with same performance, for 3k your desktop will be crazy)

    I know you can build a crazy strong desktop with that amount of money. I was looking for some portability too tho. That's why I chose the laptop option. Plus I always wanted an Alienware laptop :)

    As I said the games I play are mostly sports games which are not as demanding as some of the games out there. So it's not a real measurement but with the sports games I have no FPS problems at all. I play 2K's NBA, NHL and soccer(PES). And I never miss a new Tomb Raider :)
