Off Topic: WoW - Choose my Class/Race

Couldn't find an offtopic section anymore, so I guess I'll put this here?

I'm Starting up World of Warcraft again and just wanted some insight on to what class/race to play.

 

Hunter is much more fun then it used to be in the last expansion. Death Knight is nice too, plenty of spells/attacks to use + you can solo a lot of things.

I would choose orc for both because.... they simply rock in terms of looks and racial abilities for those 2 classes.

 

How long has it been since you played? If before WotLK, then roll a DK, they are fun to play and the population levels of them have died down a bit (I haven't played in about 6 months though).

but out of those, Human warlock. that was my first level 60(from back in vanilla. the GOOD days of wow) . repetitive leveling, but man o man is destruction fun if you like big numbers

I've played from vanilla through wotlk. I kind of want a ranged class but also one that'll be useful. I just wish I had time to play them all

 

Once you start thinking about it you'll never make up your mind. This class has swords, this one has forms, this one can walk on water. Really any class will work depending on if you farm pvp or raid. What do you plan on doing?

 

Yes, it depends on whether you want to PVP or PVE, heal/tank/melee DPS or ranged DPS. Also, screw alliance, go with the horde.

 

Yeah hordes the way to go. Best lore, best races, best zones.

 

I wanted to go alliance since I've always played horde.

I kind of wanted a ranged class, I like using bows with hunters. But I also wanted a magic class. So I can't decide between ranged weapons or ranged magic. I'll be PVE as I stink at PVP, not enough skill for that.

 

I would say hunter would be great, it's one of the easiest to play ranged dps, together with mage and shaman, but shaman is a bit gimped currently in the dps department, and spell caster gears are harder to get, hunter gears are very easy to get, especially now that the ranged weapons of warrior and rogues don't really conflict with hunter's, so hunters actually got their ranged weapons exclusively for them. The only other class that uses physical dps mail is enh shaman, and they don't use armour penetration gears, and they are rare as well.

All in all, hunter is currently the highest dps ranged dps class, one of the easiest to dps, and easiest to gear. Only problem is hunters have too many utility skills, so you will be tasked to do alot of odd jobs in PvE, especially ice crown citadel, eg. handle the blood beasts in saurfang fight, hit the orb in blood prince, de-frenzy the mobs, misdirect the images to tank, and hitting the frost orbs in lich king fight etc.
