It seems the file is only 1MB, but it starts a downloader of the true drivers.

Thanks! Downloading now

it doesn't seem to be working for me. even with mobility modder.
it says its installing the drivers, but then when you open device manager, the one's installed by default from microsoft (that give a yellow exclamation mark over your secondary card) are what is still installed. -
Installed it about 10 hours ago so im pretty sure it works
You dont need to mob mod it btw.
-
I installed 10.3 and it seems my performance on all games has gotten worse. I just loaded the CrossfireX profiles, so maybe those make it better.
-
Looks like I get about 20fps less on Batman, which is like still an average of 95fps, I was averaging like 109 the other day
-
Looks like the release is kinda betish as well. Hmm, will stay on beta for now.
-
nvm.
10char... -
GOOD NEWS. People gona check the performance. Wondering when will we see a post like "OFFICIAL 5870S RELEASED"
-
hmmmm... well it doesn't look like anything got fixed on Bad Company 2
-
Why do we find this crap acceptable? I've never had a single driver (amd or nvidia) that just WORKED without any problems. How is this any different from releasing defective products? Its not like we can make our own drivers to fix the problems they can't (or don't). And even if we could, its probably illegal.

Just Downloaded the Beta 10.3 See if they are any better.

Megacharge Custom User Title
These new drivers are kinda lame. The Dell drivers seem to handle all my games better than these new ones do.
-
So im using the 10.3 preview, the release that came out exactly 1 day before the official 10.3 release. Should I stick to that or upgrade to the official 10.3? Is it better than the beta and preview versions?

Tinderbox (UK) BAKED BEAN KING
As far as i can tell the 10.3a and 10.3 are identical
-
Ive had no problems with 10.3a so if they are the same, ill switch to the official 10.3.

Tinderbox (UK) BAKED BEAN KING
I just downloaded 10.3 again and did another bit for bit check with the 10.3a i downloaded on the 17th and they are still identical.
-
Guys I downloaded and installed the CrossfireX profiles from Ati and performance has improved greatly. I highly recommend loading those along with the 10.3 drivers.

-
any more thoughts i still havent updated to 10.3 just thinking if i should bother
-
Yes, do it. Its fine.
-
Yea I think the general consensus is to use the ATi installer and everything should go smoothly
-
Yep, updated mine and it's fine.
-
My cards would hit 87C in certain not too demanding games and now they barely scratch 70C. -
I doubt the driver would cause actual temp variations to that extreme.
My guess is the beta driver was reading the sensor wrong and/or reporting the wrong temp. -
Hmmm, you might be right. Initially the temps were fine 70c max, but lately, few days before the update they jumped by almost 17C @ load. The system is practically glued to one spot all the time and there's no change in ambient. (27c).

Dell's drivers have limited resolution support. so if your native is 1920x1200, a similar ratio is 1280x800 - dell's drivers don't even have this resolution. suppose you wanted to play a game like crysis at a lower resolution without it looking stretched, you gotta keep the ratio.
9.12 drivers mobility modded. all you gotta do to realize how much these suck is: unplug your power supply and plug it back in while you're using your computer. I'm pretty sure it will freeze.
so unless you're looking at older versions of catalyst drivers, like 9.9, or older versions of 10 (10.2), 10.3 is golden right now and should be installed without giving it a second's thought.
Official Catalyst 10.3 released
