    Let's start from the beginning...

I was running driver version 186.64 for the GPUs with NVIDIA performance tools 6.03. My GPU temps were a constant 40 degrees...

I proceeded to overclock the GPUs a bit too much, my screen went black and a restarted my machine. On restart, the machine would only get as far as the "Welcome" screen. Once it got to that screen it stayed there and began what I can only describe as rapid strobing (I could still move the mouse around) and would not go into Windows.

I restarted the machine via the external button and went into safe mode to drop the GPU settings back to stock...little did I know that you can't adjust the settings in safe mode, so I decided to reinstall the drivers. After installing and uninstalling the drivers multiple times, the problem persisted (yes, I used drivercleaner and everything)

So, I decided to reinstall Windows 7, everything is working OK with the the clean install of 186.64 except for the fact that my GPUs are both idling at well over 50 degrees!

What could be going on? What should I try to do to bring the temps down?

Mine idle at 40-50ish and max at high 60's in game with the same drivers (with a cryo-lx running). For me, if the fans are whirling up when they are supposed to and temps don't hit above 80 under load, then I would just go with it, the temps are still within the limits. Above 85, I would start to look for solutions, just my opinion.

If you wanted to check the drivers, you can uninstall and wipe the 186's and install the default ones that come with the M17x: 179 or whatever they are on the Dell site and check your temps with those ones instead.
