I'm going to be getting the 9800 graphics with the 4gm of memory. I can't decide between the 2.4 and the 2.5 processors though. Is there that great of a difference? Is the money worth it?

Yeah, I was told to do that by someone too. I'm a newb when it comes to upgrading however and am terrified i'm going to mess something up if i change out the ram...can i bring it to a geek squad or something and they do it for you? Also...4gb is 40 on newegg and 150 at best buy!? what's up with that.

The T9300 isn't worth $100 over the T8300. You're looking at a 4% improvement in clock speeds. You'll never notice.

I'd also be okay with taking the 3870 over the 9800M GT, and please don't pay them +$150 for 4GB of RAM. It's really easy to do yourself.

    Now with video!

the 3870 over the 9800? hmmmmm dunno about that call...
but i shall agree the 4% is minimal and not worth the cost.

best buy charges like AW because most people are computer illiterate and dont know how to change it or what it even is :D

the ram is super easy i told my 50 year old mom how to do it over the phone

the 9300 is not nessasary but its nice to have so that down the road you'll still be rollin nice :D and the ati 3870 is a nice card but the 9800m gt uses more gpu then cpu and will proably perform better the 3870 uses more cpu then gpu. So i would go with the 9800m gt to get the most out of your laptop
