So last semester my hinge on my old Alienware m15x starting splitting open. It has been fine until now because
something got jammed in there leaving it semi structurally sound. Now its starting to get worse and I was wondering
if Dell still fixes the hinges for these systems. If so what number should I call for sending it in for repair?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

they only fix this if you are under warranty. other wise you have to go to ebay and buy a back panel yourself and fix it yourself. this problem will reoccure again even if you fix it with a new back panel so you should try to strengthen the hinge area with epoxy.

Im pretty sure Alienware will fix it for you. Just call their toll free. It'll probably cost you a bit. I remember my friend's m15x hinge broke after the warranty and he argued it was a problem with the laptop, and they did it for free, so you can try that.

If they don't fix it for ya, I'll sell you mine for like 50 dollars. I want to move to a Ripley Cover anyways, my current is a Skull Cap.
