hi, guys, i am not sure why my M17X only scored 5.9 for the sumsung 256GB SSD, all the other guys on web had a 7+ or something![]()
here is the config:
7.2 Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Extreme CPU Q9300 @ 2.53GHz
5.9 Memory (RAM) 4.00 GB (DUAL CHANNEL 1333MHz)
7.3 Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280M SLI
7.3 Gaming graphics 2687 MB Total available graphics memory
5.9 Primary hard disk 147GB Free (224GB Total)
Windows 7 Ultimate

Do a HDtune test and compare it to others' 256 GB SSD tests. If it comes out normal, then something might have happened during the test. test again and see.

Honestly, you shouldn't worry about the Windows Experience scores, it tells you nothing concrete. Do some benchmarks and tests as THRUST suggested and compare them to the hardcores on this forum and you'll get a much more accurate picture with more useful information than a single arbitrary number supplied by Mircosoft

I ordered the dual SSDs in raid 0. Can't wait to see how it runs with Win 7.

Strange.....its exactly the same score I get with my G-skill Titan SSD.
-
hope people with the same SSD can post their score~ -
I got the exact same score with a RAID 0 setup.

acutaly there are many possible reason why your score is limited
window score are also limited by some feature lacking
like if you'r ssd lack some non important it might be in the under 5.9 capacitie bracket because of that
even thought it's perf lvl might be 7.2 -
My score is 7.3 with Raid 0 SSD..... i dont see why it would be that low on a single one however....
-
Problem solved, I changed my visual effect in windows setting to get the best performance, and now it has 6.9 score for the SSD....
what a difference! -
What sort of visual effects did you have, cause im only getting a score of 5.4 cause of my ssd. Im trying to get the score up, what did you do??
Thanks! -
yeah we wanna know!
thanks. -
-
Control panel>performance information and tools>adjust visual effects>choose: adjust for best performance....then APPLY.
lets see if it works. -
I just adjusted it to best performance, and my hard drive score is still 5.4.
What the heck is wrong?? I do have about 20gb of filled space unaccounted for that I just cannot find, and yes I tried disk cleanup and all that. I have noticed even startup/shutdown takes alot longer than Vista, so something isn't right. Any advice? Thanks! -
Aero visual effects being on should have zero effect on the hard disk score. My single 225 Crucial 128gb gets a 7.3 score in windows 7 with all visual effects on in my M1730
-
system restore will take up that 20 gig turn it off and delete them and your problem should go away
-
my score is 5.9 as well(win 7).
I have an xps m1730 with the 256 ssd.
any ideas?
Only 5.9 system score on my 256GB SSD?
