Hi all! I'm back with another issue!

I started up my M17x (non-R2) when I got back from work this evening to find it running dog slow! It took forever to log into windows once it eventually booted up and everything took ages to display (My Computer, teh start menu etc).

I ran a quick virus scan, grabbed any recommended windows updates, then rebooted into the BIOS. I checked all settings were as normal regarding power management, and set Hybrid GFX to enabled. On reboot everything seems ok again! :D

I then load up Oblivion to see terrible lag, not as bad as when in stealth mode, but still pretty bad. I closed the game and opened up the Video options to check and only one 260M was available in the drop down of cards to use. (There are usually 2)

Any ideas how to sort this?

    Thanks a lot!

Do both cards show up in Device Manager?

A friend of mine's m1730 has a pair of 8800GTXs in SLI.. his secondary card used to work fine, but one day, Windows started complaining that "the device couldn't be started", then shortly thereafter, the secondary card disappeared entirely from Device Manager. We concluded that the GPU had pretty much died outright.

Regardless, both cards should be showing up in Device Manager. As the poster above suggested, make sure they're both enabled.. and if they are and one is missing, you may have the same problem my friend had.

It might be time to preheat the oven.
