Order a new M17x from Canada

I'm about to order a new M17x, but i'm in Canada right now, after the customize process, I couldn't find anywhere to customize the nameplate in Dell's Canada site (they only offer the standard nameplate which is M17x and I can only see it at the review page, but I want it to be my name), any help about this ??? I tried to order from dell.com but I can't get the system ship to Canada.

Also, I hear about the discounts many time but the pages in the M17x thread just jumb so fast, so I couldn't keep in track with all type of discount that Dell has offerring which people are talking about, If any1 kind to share those would be really appreciated.

You might want to wait a bit, as dell canada is doing some serious price gouging to us right now, compared to the US prices, might be an error or just greed on dells part, but might be good to wait a bit to make sure your not spending more than you have to.

 

You are right, I didn't even see the option to customize the nameplate for the system, and the price is some how pretty high ( I hate the taxes in BC, added about 450$ more for my order), anyway, i just put down a cancellation for the order and will reorder in a few days, Its safer i guess, also I'll have to wait for the refund of my M17 from AW, so I will be able to max out all the neccessary options .

By the way, you didn't mention about the customize option, is it because you can customize it or you don't care ???

P/S: Is there any discount program (student,....etc) for Canadian ??

 

I hear ya about the taxes, i live in Quebec, and taxes here are just as brutal, i had a nice config from the US site, dual 260M's with 1920x1200 screen, everything else stock and it came to 2299 USD with exchange 2491 canadian which with tax would have come to about 2700 for me, but now on the canadian site, with the same config and taxes its over 3100 dollars, ouch...

 

Oh yeah and the customization option for the name plate is there you just got to keep clicking the continue to customize tab, and yes there is student discount as well.

 

Lol thx a lot for sharing this, i just keep clicking on the option and never tried with the continue button. Also would you please give me any clue where to get the student discount?? I chatted with a representative earlier but he said Dell is not offering any discount. Please give me the link or some thing.

Also the price on CA's site is somehow really unreasonable, i'll just wait a few days and then reorder it. Give me a shout if you have any good news later
