Wow it only took you 8 days. I really hope my order will go on as smoothly as yours! =) I didn't upgrade anything else except the gpu [ to 260 gtx ] so I'm guessing there shouldn't be any delays...

 

That's stupidily fast I have been waiting for about 20 days but still better than some ppl. M15x production is much more smoother than M17x so far...

 

Ordered mine yesterday (10/25/09) also! My specs are similar to yours (in my sig) so hopefully our systems will ship quick

Ordered mine on the 24th september.....EDD is 13th of november.

Not too impressed really.

Bloody hell mate... It seems most people from the UK have been suffering from 1 month + waits, and I just so happen to be in the UK too..so when I order, if I have to wait as long as you, I can totally relate to why you wouldn't be that impressed. That's a stupidly long time to wait, 1 month and a half for...

 

Madcat - actually if you ordered recently (from the UK at least), the wait times are quite low - as I posted in another thread, I ordered on the 18th of October, and although my EDD on the website was November 13th, the laptop is already shipped and will arrive on Friday. That's 10 working days, which is quite good for something on a such high demand.

 

Hey Qrio mate, did you get any other bells and whistles? I'm wondering which things might seem to delay the order or not. Can't order mine until next week because I'm still waiting for the money to go into my account, but I reckon I'll probably end up like the above poor chap and they'll shove me on delay until xmas or something.

 

Well, as others have posted too in the "Owners thread" - it depends mainly on the config you are ordering. If you are not ordering anything super-special, they most likely have some machines at least partially made somewhere in their warehouses.

I got a "standard" config -i7 720QM, 4gb 1333 DDR3, 250GB HDD, Nvidia GTX260m, Bluray, the 1920x1080 display & Win 7 pro.

The Estimated Delivery Date as I mentioned was November 13th, but it was much faster. Actually my "shipped" time is taking as much as the system being prepared - order on the 18th, "shipped" on the 24th, delivery date - 30th.

 

Cheers mate, exactly the one I'm going to order with all that, except not win7 pro. Glad you're going to receive yours in haste. With some luck I might get it fast too, you've given me some hope!!

 

Hmm, how about for US orders though - how long does that usually take [ to build the notebook & get it shipped ] nowadays? [ im asking this because majority of the people who posted here are from UK / Canada ] ^.^;

 

Yeah mine is shipping well fast as well (UK here) i ordered 21st of october, just got an email saying its shipped and I should recieve it around 4th of Nov. Quite fast actually though initially had an eta of 15th or something.

 

Hmm UK orders are going blazing fast... I hope it's the same for US :S

 

Hmm, talked to one of the people on dell chat ( cherry ) and she said that my order is in final stage of production ~
